So I keep going back and forth on this. Obviously, it's cheaper and takes up less space in our suitcases to give each guest only one. But, maracas come in pairs, right? Plus, these may end up serving as our centerpieces (what I have pictured in my mind doesn't look tacky, but who knows), so if I give away pairs, then it'd fill up the baskets/bowls better. I'm turning to my trusty BDW girls for this one! What do you think? What did you do? What are going to do?

(I also just threw on a couple of color options to the poll as an afterthought. Part of me thinks it'd look totally cool to have all the multi-colored maracas hanging out. Another part of me thinks it'd look way nicer if the colors correspond with our wedding colors. A little help on this one would be great too!)

    Thanks gals!

I plan on having one maraca per guest on top of the folded napkin on the plate as part of the wedding favor.  I plan on tying a note to the maraca about shaking it for a kiss.  I plan on buying maracas once I get to Mexico as then they will be more authentic and I won't have to pay the extra baggage fee to get them down there.

I will say that I am not huge on wedding colors - I chose two fairly neutral colors (a light blue and navy blue) so it is unlikey the maracas will clash with my navy blue napkins.

I like the idea of using the maracas as centerpieces - creative and thrifty.  Not sure how many people you plan on having at a table (my resort likes to do , but 8 in a basket will still look full - would 16 be too many for your vision?

Hmm...the 8 per "centerpiece" is a great way to look at it! From what I understand, Dreams PA seats eight per table as well. My only worry about using them as the centerpiece, is what the table will look like once people start grabbing them. But maybe I just don't care enough to worry that much about it.

Thanks for the input. I hadn't thought about it in that way!

For me - I think the centerpiece is important for 2 things:  1) pictures!, 2) how they look as people approach the table for the first time - the first impression.  After everyone sits and eats and there are glasses here and there, you lose the pretty table-scape regardless of how expensive the centerpieces are.

1 per guest...otherwise there are too many to haul down there!

            Loving married life! <3

I think one per guest should suffice

                    Thanks for the help!

We decided that we'd go with just one per guest. We did, however, order a couple extra pairs. FI was really excited about the colorful idea, so we went multi-colored. Can't wait to see them in person! Everyone seems to rave about them so I have high hopes.
