Hola! Has anyone taken on their fight the faux dasmonds that you decorate tables with? And if so, did you have any problems with customs?  Im afraid they will rip our bags apart thinking we are stashing real diamonds! ( ours are aqua blue though) - Id love to hear some feedback on what you think!  ( Our wedding is June 18, 2011)

I don't think it should be a problem. Are you carrying the items in your checked baggage or in your carry-on? The reason I asked is because the scanners for carry-ons are basically like x-ray machines. They scan the images on your bag and display a colored image based on the amount of light that penetrates the object. The amount of light penetrating any object depends on the density of the object. Because of the shape (outline) of the faux diamonds and the fact the light easily reflects through it they may wonder what they are and ask you to open it up just so they can look at it.

If you are checking your luggage, most airports use CT scanners for checked bags. The CT scanner is able to give a more accurate reading of what is in your bag since as it will produce and clear image based on the mass and density of your bags. Most scanning machines also have sniffers next to them which is a chemical machine which sniffs out the chemical compounds all any baggage entering the scanner. If any toxic or suspicious chemicals come back your bag will be pulled, you will be asked to open it and they will ask your permission to search your bag (usually with two TSA persons present).

In general I don't think you will have a problem. How do I know this useless information....I used to be a flight attendant and in my off hours waiting to jump seat would ask fellow airport employees just the curious little questions that come into my head. LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
