Ok.  From what I've read on here, it's seems that a slow response from the folks at the Sheraton is quick common.  I have emailed twice and called twice to get the ball rolling with some basic info.  Wedding packages, banquet/beverage options pricing etc I've got nothing from them.  Does anyone have this info they can post on here?  I'm almost to the point of ruling them out as a potential venue if it is this difficult to get basic information from them.  If anyone can help me out, or if someone has a better email or contact.  I had to call the hotel direct today.  I called the 1-800 # yesterday and they said that they would forward my info or I would just have to called direct. Anyway blah blah blah.

Hi tmp2be.  I hope you have been able to get in contact with Viviana Alfaro at the Sheraton; if not, here are the banquet and drink menus/pricing.  These prices were effective during my wedding in June this year so not sure is they will be different during the time of your wedding.

We had our Welcome Dinner, Ceremony and After Party at the Sheraton, but our Reception at Cabo del Sol.  However, we had food & beverage orders for the welcome dinner and the after party and I was able to customize the menus for both because I didn't really like what their set selections were.

To give you an idea...for the Welcome Dinner we had a "Mexican Style Fiesta Buffet", the food was AMAZING everything was delicious...that dinner ran us $48pp....and for the After Party Midnight Buffet we had a "Create Your Own Taco Buffet"....again, the food was VERY GOOD and that ran us $28pp.

I hope this helps.  You can also find my review below.  Overall, we were extremely pleased with the Sheraton!!!!

Thank you for the info.  I did finally receive some info from Viviana.  I guess she is the groups coordinator there.  I know this is typical as my small wedding is not her priority but It takes forever to get an email back regarding any questions I have.  This process is soooooo frustrating.  I thought destination weddings were suppose to be less $$ and easier.  Yea right.  Man was I misinformed!  (Sorry I had vent)  Side note, did they charge you for having a cake from an outside bakery? just curious.

I only dealt with Viviana up to the point when we signed our contract, then they assigned us to a in-house wedding coordinator....for the majority of the time I worked with Oscar Alcocer (he was a gem!!!!!!) but no longer works there, for the later part of the planning my Wedding Coordinator and I worked with Anne Vanolande.  She was also great and very prompt with replying to my emails.  Sorry to hear you are having such a tough time with them.

We had our wedding reception at Cabo del Sol (next to the Sheraton), but for the two other events that we did have at the Sheraton they did not allow us to bring in outside vendors.  But I believe for cakes they do charge a "chutting fee" if you go w/an outside vendor.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
