Has anyone heard of Hummingbird Hall in Montego Bay?

Recommended Posts

I spoke to the salon at Iberostar. However, I am thinking about contacting the makeup artist HH recommends and seeing what price she quotes for makeup and hair. It might be easier to get everything done at HH rather then at the resort and then transporting to HH I am worried about the heat and my hair falling...

And yes so far Rosa has been very patient with me too:)

Hi there!  I'm brand new to this forum and am in the midst of planning an April 2012 wedding at Hummingbird Hall!  I'm so excited, and even though we're going to spend a little more than we'd originally thought, I couldn't be happier that we're going to get an intimate wedding location.

Question regarding what I've seen a few people post: what items are going aiming to change in your contract?  We just got the first draft of ours today, and I only found one thing I wanted to change (which was the ceremony time that I'd entered!).  I feel nervous that maybe I'm missing some hidden catch or failing to negotiate something correctly!

Thanks so much!

Also, which hair salon did you visit? What are their prices like? Will they be doing your make-up, too?

Osharp--did you organize Rashel and Roan through Hummingbird, too?

Delgadot and Osharp, after reading your reviews I feel like all I have to do is get our dresses. That HH will make everything great! Thanks, for that peace of mind.

Hi Excellindy,

Welcome to our page. Well, I don't remember everything we changed, but the major things we changed:

a) any changes to the design on the day of the wedding would go by my sister first

B) we wanted to have our left over cake to take home as it is customary to send those who couldn't make the wedding a piece of cake

Some of HH's language is so absolute, so I just asked them for more details. I'm sure the contract is fine as is, but I always prefer clear language.

@atalanta Yes that is our monogram! I am using it on all of our stationary items. I am going for the Tropical Paradise theme so I wanted bright vibrant colors!! I just mailed off my STD boarding passes and I am so excited my family and friends are receiving them and are loving them. If you want to check them out I have them posted in my photo album!!

Delgadot,

Wow! You are really on the ball! Everything looks fantastic! I like that you put Iberostar on the STDs. That leaves HH a surprise until later!

I've seen several brides on here with various monograms. Did you use a template for your monogram? I wasn't planning on making one, but now that I'm seeing them everywhere I can't help but to want one, too!

This wedding stuff is sooooo contagious!

Happy planning!

Hi delgadot,

Thanks for the referral. I looked at her site; her monograms are beautiful and priced nicely. Again, I'm so happy to have another bride who is planning her wedding so close to my date at the same venue.

How's your planning going?

@excellindy Welcome to the forum!! Very exciting to find another HH 2012 Bride! As far as the contract went the only changes I made were upgrades, I added flowers for my bridal party and I did go with the smoothies and an open bar during cocktail hour.

Have you ladies heard of wish sky lanterns? They look so neat!

@ atatlanta- We just sent our initial deposit to lock in our date so once that is received I will feel a whole lot better. How big is your bridal party? We will have 11 people and I really wanted to have pictures taken on the beach with my group I feel like that is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to do a destination wedding was so that the ocean can be my backdrop so as beautiful as HH is it is a little disappointing that the ocean is so far away for group pictures crybaby2.gif so I am thinking about taking my bridal party on the golf cart tour with us so I can at least have pictures taken with them on the beach and at the aquaducts...I just don't know how complicated that will be to transport everyone...and it will of course cost more money to do that and I really need to stick to my budget...so many decisions...doh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
