Welcome Amy!

Step one:  find a travel agent!  There are a zillion resorts to choose from, so they can help you narrow it down to what suits your taste, budget and must-haves.  From there, you can start looking into the resorts that would work for you and start crossing some of them off the list.  Each resorts wedding packages are very different as well.

Good luck with the research!  There's tons of useful info around this forum, as well as separate threads for several resorts.  You might find more detailed info on some of those threads :)

One suggestion I would have is try to pick your resort and get your date asap. I noticed you want 11/11/11 which is going to be one of the most popular wedding dates next year.

To all the people who were worried about the extra costs of getting Married in Mexico - don't forget that getting Married at home has costs too!

We decided we didn't want two days, so we're getting "paperworked" one year before our wedding in Mexico, this Wednesday the 12th of Jan.

This will vary depending on your province - the costs in Manitoba the costs are:

Marriage License - $100

Marriage Commissioner - $125 - $350 is what I was quoted, just for a legality ceremony.

Marriage Certificate - $25 or $60 (for a rush).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
