Turks and Caicos

Recommended Posts

Hi Meagan, I saw your pictures on the tropical imaging website....very nice! I am getting married in May 2011 and I'd really appreciate any help or tips you have!! We're only now looking into timeslots, room types and wedding details.

I'm a little iffy about having the wedding at 11am, but it's likely the only timeslot available. We are also trying to decide on whether or not we would like to upgrade our room -- we're only in the Caicos Prem room at the moment...thinking of doing a one bedrm Parrot Cay suite...but not sure if it's a good idea to spend the extra money.

Any advice or tips on wedding planning would be really helpful! :)

Hi MissLinz!  We booked the Parrot Cay 1 Bedrm Honeymoon suite.  I figured since it's our honeymoon, we would upgrade our room and spend a little more money.  One of my friends on Facebook has some pictures of this room; let me know if you want to see them, and I'll see if I can save them to my computer and send them to you!  :-)

Hi LaurenMarie...

Thanks...that would be awesome. I think we are going to splurge on our wedding details instead of the room....although we may still upgrade the room for the second week we are there. Not sure just yet. We are terrible when it comes to making a decision...lol.

Still haven't heard from the wedding coordinator yet..but I doubt we'll have made any other decisions by then...lol..

Where are you having your ceremony? Have you chosen a location yet? I think we are going to try for one of the gazebos...beach is a little too public for us and we would like something in the shade....we'll see...

:)

HI, Im planning on getting married at Beaches Turks on NYE 2013. I want to have a "reception" with a DJ and apps around the pool. Does anyone know if this is possible. I saw the 3 reception options, and we are wiilling to pay for all the extras, but I just was wondering if its possible to extend the hour long "cocktail hour" for an extra fee? Any info or pictures would help! my email is Brebon21@gmail.com. Thanks Girls!

Welcome Brebon! You should come join the Beaches Turks & Caicos Roll Call thread. It has tons and tons of helpful advice from past Beaches brides and even pics and reviews! Everything you are asking about is definitely an option. It's all just an extra fee. Have you booked your wedding yet? Once you do that then an off site "wedding coordinator" will send you the wedding packet with some of the pricing and info on all the packages. Congrats and Happy planning!!

Hi Everyone!

I am getting married at The Beaches Turks and Caicos on January 26th, 2013. Dealing with the wedding coordinators feels somewhat blinding. My question for all of you is, what am I getting into?

What are the do's and don't of the resort?

Regrets?

Things you wish you would have done or done better?

What type of cake to get?

Flowers? pricing, good ones, etc?

Previous weather in January?

Also, photography and videography??? I'm so nervous about this.

I saw a girl would had a third party vendor photographer? How is that possible?

Also, how does everyone feel about the videography options?

Please...if anyone has photos of their wedding, if they could send me some, it might ease my mind :) Thanks so much everyone!

First of all...oh boy... I feel so far behind after reading a lot of these messages! I've been reading for a few days but just joined, gotta start somewhere! We are planning to get married late May 2011 and would love it to be at Beaches Turks and Caicos. I thought with it being 8 months away but now I'm not so sure about that and I don't even know where to start! Where did everyone find their TA's? After looking at the Beaches site we've decided what we want and what room we want and it surprised me that I didn't get sticker shock from the prices for us. My concern is how our families and close friends will react... did anyone get negative feedback for your decision or did people just say "Sorry, can't make it"?   I think that is my biggest concern right now. I have a ton of questions but don't want to fire them all out in my first post! Oh, I'm Kim by the way. Thank you all for providing such helpful information, it really helps!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
