Gran Caribe Real Brides 2012

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies! I just booked my wedding at the Gran Caribe for 3/14/13! :)  We are getting married at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel at 4pm with a private cocktail hour and private reception immediately following at the Albatros Terrace. I was wondering if anyone has had a night reception there? I am a little worried because the sun will set as we are starting to eat dinner and I have not seen any lighting in the pictures of the Terrace. Does anyone have any experience with this? Help! :)

Hi, can you tell me HOW you ordered your passport invites? I setup an account on multiply, found their sample invites, but I'm not sure how to communicate using multiply. I get married at the beach and will have my reception on the rooftop terrace (the one with green carpet) on 9/4/12.

aisle2.jpgaisle3.jpgaisle4.jpgaisle.jpgWe just got back from our wedding :) It was absolutely perfect!!!! I will post a better review when i get settled in as we just arrived home today.

If you have Elizabeth as an on site coordinator she is absolutely amazing. My flowers were beautiful and the food was delcious, it exceedd are expectations for sure.

We got married at the gazebo at 3pm , with a cocktail hour at 3:30 on the beach and reception on the terrace by the gazebo.

We had the chicken florentine for dinner and it was amazing, the Spinach souffle as a starter was not a very big hit, and we had baked pear for dessert.

Welcome back!!  I can't wait to read your review.  I've been assigned Elizabeth as my onsite coordinator, too.  So glad to hear you had a great experience with her :)  Just by looking at your pictures, it looks like you guys all had a great time!

That's a bummer!  I think this is a new charge they've implemented.  Honestly, I never even asked about having a time gap.  I just told my coordinator that I wanted my ceremony at 1 PM and our private reception at 6 PM - 10 PM.  When we received our final invoice I didn't see any extra charges and our times were what we wanted.  It could be that I didn't get charged the extra fee because I booked my wedding and reserved our times back in 2010 - I know, a long time ago!!!

Me and my hubby just got married at gran caribe real on March 6, 2012 at the gazebo and it was amazing. the weather wasnt great that day and we had planned an out door dinner and they were able to move it inside at the last minute without hesitation. they were so wonderful to work with. every aspect of the day was exceeding our expectations! that flowers were WAY nicer then they looked when i was picking them out from the list. and the food was by far the best meal any of our guests had the entire time they were there.

meeting with the WC was a breeze. we were there for maybe an hour to discuss how we wanted it to flow, and to discuss the decor. we brought a lot of our own decorations and they put everything together. (i thought that we might have to do it as we werent using their decorations... but we just gave all our stuff to the WC and EVERYTHING was done for us. we were actually able to relax and not have to think about the wedding until the day. it was a nice treat.

We had 56 guests there and it was a little tight in the gazibo. i would suggest if you have more then 50 guests to have it at another location.  we had only planned on 48 guests but we had 8 ppl book at the last minute (which they were able to accomodate).

it was an absolute perfect day.

i loved having it in the gazibo as i had see 2 other weddings earlier in the week that were done on the beach. and people (randoms) crowd around and some even walk infron or thru the wedding. with the gazebo being were it is, it makes it very personal and private which i liked.

we hired a photographer right from cancun. i actually found him from reviews on this forum.

we just wanted a couple hours of photography as i have been in other wedding parties where we spent 6 hours of the day taking pictures and the bridal party actually misses out on alot of the wedding which i dont like. so when i contacted Sascha Gluck to discuss what we were looking for i was happy that he offered a 2 hour package at a reasonable price. his photos were absolutly amazing so i was confident in our decision to have him photograph our wedding.

we was sooo easy to work with and has a vary creative view when it comes to photos (but not out there pix- ones you would actually develop). i would highly recommend him.

be aware that the resort does charge a fee for the photographer to be there but it is SOOOO worth it.

you still get the photos from the onsite photographer (which only 2 of the 25 photos we got were even close to being something we would print).

i know that when we were planning this forum was vary helpful for me, so i wanted to write a review from our experience.

if you have any questions dont hesitate to email me with them. its jen.marling@gmail.com

the photos above are from sascha gluck. the ones below are just ones that friends and family snapped. i just wanted to give your brides to be an adea of what the place looked like ext.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
