Any Scuba Diving Enthusiasts?

Krys, sounds cool I will talk to hubby about it. I am more enthusiastic than him when it comes to scuba. I'm pretty open on Sunday except for my shoot with Ileana at 3pm.

Pineapplebride that so sounds like me, I am already so psyched about scuba I can't wait to really experience other waters. I can definitely see myself basing our vacations on good scuba destinations....lol!

Great thread!! There don't seem to be too many contributors, which I find surprising. FI and I are new to scuba, we were certified almost 1 year ago - we did our class and pool here in Calgary. Since neither of us have any desire to do cold water diving :) we went to Hawaii for a vacation and to complete our open water dives! We did all of our diving in Maui and it was amaaaazing!! Visibility was incredible - we did one dive (after we were certified) that was 100 ft (eek!) and when we jumped in, we could see all the way to the bottom! The fish, sea turtles, eels, reef sharks, etc were so cool. I'm hooked, I can't wait to dive more! I wish we were going somewhere great for diving for our wedding/honeymoon, but we've chosen the DR for many other reasons. I really want to go to Belize for a dive trip! My parents (also divers) go to Ambergis Caye every year and love it, they rave about the diving down there.

When I was diving in Belize I stayed at Caye Caulker, the island next to Caye Ambergris. Caye Ambergris is very touristy and busy, kind of like a mini miami. Caye Caulker is much smaller, quieter and laid back...sand roads, no cars, very relaxing! Both islands go to the same dive sites as they are so close together. I definitely recommend a trip to Lighthouse Reef, beautiful dives and the Blue Hole is there. Turneffe Reef was a close second too...

I'm leaving for Australia tomorrow... and I'll be diving the GBR this time next week!!  :) so excited!

My FH and I got PADI certified last summer! We did it in Monterey, CA, though. Fun, but it's WAY TOO COLD to do regularly. Hoping to do some diving in warmer climates during the summer :) [/quote My fiancé and I got certified in a lake several years ago as a birthday present for him and I hated it. However after my first time diving in the clear ocean water I fell in love and can now say it should have been my birthday present. :D lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
