We sent our invites out in the beginning of June, and asked for an rsvp by July 31st. (gave them 2 months) Out of the 100 invites we sent out, we only heard from 42 people, all of whom are coming... No one else rsvp'd. Don't you think you should rsvp whether you are or are not attending- even if it is a destination wedding? This is frustrating. We are just assuming the rest aren't coming, and so we are not planning for them- for dinner, oot bags etc. I will be kind of upset if they decide to book at last minute.. they could at least give us a heads up if they are contemplating coming- right?

Yeah, I am having a similar problem. We have so many people that SAY they are going, but no one has booked yet! I am in the process of ordering postcards from Vista Print now to send out saying "please book by...". I don't really have any advice for you, just that I feel your pain!

I am all for NOT holding peoples hands but I have read where some people will start to call their guests if they have not heard. This goes against the whole RSVP concept but it may help your with the stress. We just had our AHR and only half the people RSVP'd. Those were the people who came.

Wow, that sucks. I bet I'll have a lot of 'no responders' too. If you have email addresses ... I'd send out an email saying that the RSVP date has passed and that you have to finalize things with the resort, so that you are assuming that if they didn't RSVP that they are not coming, so to let you know ASAP if that is not the case.

I forgot to RSVP to a friends wedding last year (it was in Ohio) and she called to ask -- and I WAS going ... so you may have some that simply forgot to RSVP, so email is a good option for those you can reach that way (I have several relatives who don't havemail ... so those perhaps you can call ... or have someone call for you).

I REALLY like the idea of asking someone else to call. This will make it less stressful for you. Could you BM or MOH doing it? Or split is and give some to the underworked best man.

I had a few people not RSVP but that came. The only reason I was even prepared from them is that I heard through word of mouth that they were coming. RSVP's are so frustrating. You can't make it any easier for these people to send the card back, but they don't.

Wow I haven't even thought about this yet since I was thinking of only like 30people attending.

Hopefully this problem will be minimized for some brides by the new passport laws (not that I will ever hear myself say this again) but the wait time to get a passport will make people actually plan ahead and not book last minute.

Most of my guests do not have passports so I'm kind of in the thought process if they go to get one, they must be thinking about going. Now I realize this doesn't mean their butt is actually on the plane though....that's a whole other story.

We sent out 50 invites (approximately 100 people) and I think we got about 80% back. There were a lot of people on the list that we knew wouldn't go or couldn't go. Even before I got the RSVP's back I went through and eliminated some people I knew weren't going. And we see almost everyone that is invited or have seen them in the past few months and most people have mentioned it and told us if they couldn't come, so I don't think we'll have any surprises.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
