Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi Mynda, glad to hear that you had your dream wedding!! Are you going to do a review of the resort at some point?  As for questions I was wondering:

(a) Did you do most of the wedding organization once you arrived at the resort (i.e. choosing cake, flowers, decorations, etc.)?

(B) Were you able to create your own ceremony for the judge to read?

© Where was your reception dinner?  Do they let you use one of the a la carte restaurants?  Or just block off an area of one of the restaurants for the group?

Sorry for so many questions but I find it hard to get information from the wedding coordinator at the resort!  Our date is May 9, 2012, so I guess it's not a rush!

Well i had it all in my mind already acording to the fotos that she had sent me that was included in the pacakage that i picked wich was susnhine, and had told her that in emails. But the real thing is she only rights down everthing you want once you get there.

when i got there i had i letter on top of my bed, to meet her that same day in the reception at 7pm wich was fantastic.

i got there , she asked me for the documents all translated and legalized she saw if everything was ok and we proceeded with the flowers, she show me the pics of the flowers included wich i had already seen and i picked white roses for the center and bouquet,i picked silver lace for the chairs and a gold lace for the cake, she will ask you what music will you like for your entrance i piked Juan Luis Guerra a Dominican singer.

and for our first dance i brought a cd with the music i wanted Adele ''one and only''. she will ask you where do you want to have your first dance, i picked in the gazebo right after the wedding. for the cake she will also show you fotos i had a tree layed cake decorated with shells and my toppers i brought monograms. i also brought for the bouquet a monogram and little diamonds for the center of the roses there was no problem with that. than the wedding dinner she will show you the restaraunts that you can pick with there menus i picked ''Don Pablo'' i am not sure but i think you can not shut down the restaurant for your wedding , i was very lucky when we got there , it only had a cuple and they were finishing and then nobody else came in just us. i think it is possible for you create your own ceremony, i didn't think it was necessary beacause it only lasts like 20min , i did the sand ceremony and forgot the paper but the WC had the sand ceremony so i read it and it was perfect. and it was the judge that also read it, in our wedding but you can ask a member of your familiy to read it . if you have anymore questions ............

Jayney,

Have you had any luck with setting a specific time of day and location with the wedding coordinator?  I haven't managed to get past booking the date for the wedding.  I still have a lot of questions, but don't seem to be getting any answers from her!

Just wondering what your experience has been.

Hiya

So far I have booked the wedding through First Choice and got the date confirmed, however I haven't heard anything directly from hotel/wedding coordinator. I did email the wedding coordinator several times before booking to get more info but I had no response! It sounds like you are having exactly the same problem!

I think I am going to try and get some more information from First Choice/Thomson, but I am not holding my breath as they have been pretty useless so far, unfortunately they are the only people who offer the holiday package at the hotel!

Ringing the hotel directly may be worth ago.

It is really annoying as it would be good to prepare and have an idea of the various things they offer before we go. It does sound like the wedding coordinator is really good once you get there and speak to her though, which I suppose is the main thing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
