Hi there! My fiance and i are considering GBP CL for our wedding 12/1/12.  We were originally ready to book Dreams La Romana, but due to a number of issues, we have decided against it. We're still choosing between GBP or a big church wedding at home. I'll let ya'll know if we choose GBP. It looks amazing!!

I got married here April 17, 2009 and it was incredible. Our friends still talk about it. I can answer any questions people may have.

We wanted a more meaningful ceremony so my uncle who is a minister back home did the ceremony and the judge was there to witness our documents. The ceremony was in the gazebo and our dinner was outside on the deck between the 2 restaurants by the pool which made it completely private without paying any additional fees. We also used their photographer.

Angela was the coordinator for our wedding and was incredible once we were at the resort.

Hi! I am sure I have millions of questions for you... it is so hard to find info about this resort!

I am so glad that you had such a wonderful experience! I was wondering what your guest count was, and how you managed the dinner on the deck with no fees.... I did not even know that was an option?

Thank you so much for sharing!

We had 47 guests total. The majority of your planning will happen when you get to the resort, don't stress yourself about trying to do everything in advance. You'll worry yourself out too much about not getting responses back in a timely manner or at all from the resort.

When we met with Angela the day after we got to the resort we went through all of the details. The patio between the 2 restaurants is actual seating for one of them (I think don pablo but can't remember) so we requested to have that area reserved for us. Because of the size of the group, we had the middle of the patio to ourselves. They can do a lot for you once you're there, but won't promise anything over email.

Hi LaurenP and thanks! I'm sure I will have some questions for you pretty soon! I just received confirmation from the WC there, Steffany. She tells me it is not possible to have a legal ceremony AND a minister... it's either legal OR symbolic. I know several people who did what you did and I'm very disheartened to learn that I may not be able to do that. I've been trying to email Steffany once more, but I keep getting "delivery failure" messages, so we'll see. I'm hoping it's just a language barrier.....

So excited to get married in paradise though! Praying we can have the Christian minister too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
