Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado Brides?

Recommended Posts

I have a hard time to beleive that they could do this to wedding parties that already have deposits down. It really would not make sense and I sure somewhere that would have to be a way around this. This just sounds absolutely absurd. We only have 1 child coming (7 months), but I am going to e-mail my travel agent and see what it is all about. I don't have time to change resort, etc..I am 2 months away to the big day!

Hi Charlong,

I know the feeling those are usually the same responses that i get...except i hear the prices are coming soon...its been like 6 months and i still don't have the "official" prices!! I'm just shy of 5 months away now from the big day so i'm getting to the point where i want to start making some decisions which is difficult with no confirmed prices. Luckily, i just read a review of a bride from the UK on trip advisor and i e-mailed her to ask her some questions. She was extremely helpful and its nice hearing from someone who was just there. SHe said that the hotel has only one wedding a day so you can pick your ceremony for any time. I asked her about what she did between ceremony and and dinner/reception and she said they had drinks at the lobby bar and they were able to stay at their restaurant until 10 p.m. After that the public beach was supposed to be open for the dsico however when they got there it was completely empty. The resort said there was a beach party everynight but she said that was not true its only on Friday. Luckily this didn't impact them and they still had a great time but if this is something that you're counting on for the after party it could be a dissapointment. However, she did say that Simona was amazing and did a fantastic job and she was really happy with everything. She said they do their best once you're there to do everything you want so i'm hoping that she will accomodate whatever we need once we arrive including making sure the disco is open!

I've just e-mailed her a second time with more questions and i will share her responses.

Hello,

We are heading to Cayo Levantado in about 10 days for our wedding! We have had a really hard time getting information from the resort So it is great to hear they take care of everything when you get there.  I'm just wondering what happens for the reception, after dinner, where does the dance take place?  I've been told we have to leave the restaurant by 10 and there is a show at the beach bar??  We are just confused, we would like to have a dance/reception that goes latter into the night, any thoughts?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

How many guests are you having? Where is your ceremony? Your dinner? So many questions!

I have heard that the beach bar has dancing late into the night, and they are pretty accommodating, so hopefully that works out alright for you.

Have a wonderful time, congratulations, and please come on when you get back to tell us all about it!

Hi there,

I have just been emailing back and forth with the wedding coordinator with regards to this issue.  We too want to have a dance, hence why we asked them to hire a DJ for us a while back.  We have now been told we are only allowed to be in the outdoor space until 10 and are not happy about this.  With dinner not being served until after 7pm, we are likely to get in maybe an hour of dancing?  The DJ costs $400.  This is just unacceptable.  I am waiting for a response on any other possible options and hoping there is something.  She also told us there was a show at the beach bar on the public beach side.  We're not asking our guests to make the trek over there and besides that, it won't be private.  I'm really, really hoping there is something they can do to accommodate us.  I will let you know when I hear back again.

Hey, I am new in here and find this forum extremely useful!

We are planning our wedding for early April 2013. In fact that's gonna be our 5th anniversary, but we never had a ceremony and celebration with family & friends. As well as the honeymoon. :) I was looking at Punta Cana resorts at first, but when I accidentally saw BP Cayo Levantado, I simply fell in love with it.

Since we are already married, I want a really small ceremony, and I don't want any special arrangements for the reception. We want our friend to hold the ceremony. You know, just like Joey in "Friends". :)

I was trying to get the information from the wedding coordinator Amaradai (at coordinadorgruposbpcle@bahia-principe.com) regarding our specific needs, but it's been a week, and I haven't received any answer yet. I saw that unfortunately it's normal for them to be very slow to respond.

Maybe any of you have the answers?

Basically what I'm trying to find out is the price for the bamboo gazebo/arch for the beach.

- How much is the bride's make up.

- Who is the photographer.

Photography is rather important to me. I was looking at HDC photo as an option. But once again, I've got no idea if they take a fee for the photographer you bring on site.

Those of you who called the hotel, was it simple and easy? Or is it worth it waiting for their email? From what I've read, the date reservation is made by email anyway...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
