Thanks Peach, whatever information you are able to provide, I will happily take! My email is maisiedaisy67@hotmail.com

Its too bad really, if the resorts were more organized and transparent with all of their pricing for packages, extras etc, they probably would not get as many emails and would not be as busy! Ah well, it will all be worth it in the end :)

Does anyone have a current wedding package?  The one I received is from February, however from reading a recent review on TripAdvisor a bride stated it is now $3500 to have your reception at the Don Pablo and they don't let you have it outside anymore.  We had previously requested an outdoor reception at this venue and was told this was okay, however if they are now charging an astronomical amount such as this we obviously won't be having it there.  Just wondered if this was something new that was now indicated in their packages.  Any info would be appreciated :)

I received the wedding packages a couple of weeks ago and this DEFINITELY was not in any of the wedding packages. I too have asked to have a reception outside, but have not heard back from them on this!

Have you had luck with getting responses to your questions. Looks like I am getting married a week before you!

Make sure that you are straightforward with any changes to the bookings, saying that you requested it in advance. If they won't honour it, they won't, but make sure you are clear. I read about another bride who did that at a GBP (not this resort though), and they were good about giving her what was first agreed upon.

Can people PM me the most recent information too? Mine is from before Christmas.

Also, I am trying to get a list of the exact places as possibilities to hold the reception and/or ceremony. I just thought the three restaurants were the only options... Does anyone have these?

I just read the review and it deffinitely makes me a little nervous. I received my package information around February as well and it doesn't mention anything about this extra charge. I do worry about the vagueness of their website and the language barrier when speaking with the wedding coordinator by e-mail so i'm really not surprised this kind of thing happens. However, I have a feeling there may have been more behind the $3500 extra charge that wasn't mentioned in the review or maybe stuff she didn't know about. It just seems really odd to me that they would throw out a random price like that when none of their packages come even close to that mark.

If anyone gets any new information from the wedding coordinator please pass it on to the rest of us! Until then i dont think we should worry too much. I'm sure all of us will hit a few bumps in the road during the planning process but I do also think we may get surprised the opposite way in the sense we may get extras we didn't expect!

The reason my fiance and I decided on a down south wedding was because we didn't want to worry about the small things rather wanted to focus on what was important and thats spending time with the family and friends that are closest to you and really just enjoying our wedding day stress free! I am an event planner as a profession and the most important thing for any event I organize is that people are having fun! You can't go wrong down south with the beautiful weather, beach, good friends, unlimited food and drinks. I always try to keep that in mind throughout these bumps in the road and remember that its not the colour of your napkins or what they ate for dinner that people are going to remember most.

Yeah, I read the review too... and I am not worried. Can something like that happen? Totally. Is the risk of something like that happening totally worth it? Most definitely!

I generally take reviews with a grain of salt, so to speak, especially on tripadvisor, and try to read between the lines. What that review taught me:

- try to be flexible (we are)

- bring pictures of what you want to the salon for hairstyle (we were planning to anyway)

- the wedding coordinator is great

- print everything off ahead of time so we you have paper copies when you get to the resort, in case of changes

So, I am not worried, but I am very happy the bride posted that review, so we can all learn a little more too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
