Hi Steph !!!!

I'm looking to have my wedding in January 2013 too!

Have you booked the resort yet?

Do you mind me asking what kind of pricing you got?
I'm awaiting my agents prices right now, but I'm anxious to see what the

cost for this resort is in January ....

Hi Kristen,

I have booked my wedding date with the hotel (January 10th, 2013) but i have not yet booked any of the trips. I've asked my travel agent to get prices for me a few times just to keep an eye on them and they are about $1750 double occupancy for a flight out of Ottawa with AC Vacations. I'm crossing my fingers that the price doesn't go up as i can't hold the price for more than 30 days. Unfortuantely AC has THE WORST group booking policies but they are the only ones flying out of Ottawa to this location so i'll have to make due.

Are you at all concerned about flying with AC? We were originally going to go with them. Only AC and WestJet fly to that location out of Calgary (our closest airport). Now, with all the drama Air Canada has been having, I am not so sure.

What do you think? Should we "risk" it?

I've been having these concerns as well however my travel agent has been very reassuring that there should be no issues and that I shouldn't let this worry me. They have continued booking vacations with them during this turbulent time and have had no problems so far. Of course I still worry about it but i dont see any other option for us. On the positive side, it seems of all the airlines they are very unlikely to go bankrupt as they get a lot of support from the government. My biggest concern would be that they go on strike right during my wedding but i'm hoping that things will work out in the next 9 months.

Yes, I still have a little more than a year to go... the chances of them actually going bankrupt are fairly small I think. I hope!

Hi There,

I am getting married here in November 2012. Could you relay your experience once you get back in June for the rest of us out there looking and scouring the internet for all things wedding at Cayo!

Any tips, things you loved or things you would change would be great to know.

Thanks

i haven't had any luck either coming from new york city, the best they can offer so far is going up to Canada and flying back down a 18hr trip.(which is totally CRAZYY!! )

i am originally from the Dominican Republic and  what im opting for is flying to either the Santo Domingo (SDQ) or La Romana (LRM) and getting shuttle service for my guests to Samana  its about 1hr and 20 min drive, you can talk to the resort or your travel agent and see what they might have to offer i know hotels usually offer shuttles to and from the airport for about $25 per passenger RT.
im going to look in to private buses since my party is of 30 or so guest it might be cheaper will keep you posted if you'd like.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
