Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado Brides?

Recommended Posts

Well, at the very least I can give you some information after my wedding in May!  I'm hoping to find out some more answers from the wedding coordinator, but I find that calling her is really expensive because I'm often on hold a lot, and there is also the language barrier.  Specifically, I want to know whether we can choose our own ceremony, and also where and at what time the wedding will be!  It would also be nice to know where the reception will be...

Anyway, I'm trying to just go with the flow and realize that everything will all work out once we get there!

I think that you can chose where you have ceremony and change the small details, it depends how different you want it to be.

Have you seen the pictures that have been posted on another thread on here? They show flowers, cakes, locations etc. I am not sure how up to date or acurate they are!

Yes, I've seen the pictures.  It would be nice if they could just send us the options via email so we'd know what we want to choose when we arrive!

As for the ceremony, it's not that I don't want their ceremony- it's just that I've never seen it, and I don't know what would happen if I didn't like it when we got there and the wedding is only a few days away.  I'll bring a sample of my ceremony ideas so that I can work on it there I guess.  We also have a guest that I would like to have read a large part of the ceremony, so I wonder if that will be possible!

I was also wondering if someone had the email address for the wedding coordinator. We want some information before we book, and I cannot seem to find it on the website... Or rather, I cannot seem to get it to work (weird link on my laptop).

I am wondering about the ceremony... can there be a religious one? I know the judge is included, but can the ceremony include religious elements? This is really a deal-breaker for someone in my family... Does anyone know?

Peach- Are you UK based? The reason I ask is that we are going through Thomson/First Choice and initially we were told that the judges fees were included, however when we went to book and finalise they said they weren't and we would have to pay for these on top. Just thought I would warn you.

On the Gran Bahia website the package says they are included as well, however Thomson make you pay for them seperately which is typical of Thomson and a bit of a con. We rang and emailed the hotel to try and book it direct through them and got no answer and therefore we had no choice but to book through them.

As for the religious part, I'm not sure but we were never given an option, they only told us about the civil ceremony. Also, it depends on what type of religious ceremony you are after as I would have thought if they offered anything religious it would be in line with Dominican's religious beliefs.

Okay, thanks for the help so far!

I am not UK based.... I am in Canada. But that is VERY good to know; I will definitely be looking into it!

As for the religious aspect, I am pretty sure that you are right, and it would be in line with Catholicism (most of the Dominican beliefs). Maybe a compromise will be to ask a guest to read a verse or say a prayer or something... Hmm...

Thank you for the email! I am going to try to get some information from her now...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
