Opinions needed! Riviera Maya Wedding - what's better, June/July or early October?

You can make a log of the weather all you want, but I'm with everyone else on here--you can't predict anything!  Past and current performance is no guarantee of future weather.  I'm a bride who got married in the week of solid rain last April that keeps getting mentioned.  We picked April for many reasons, but one of which was that it's the month that's supposed to have the lowest rainfall out of the year.  Ha!  The rain blew sideways for days leading up to the wedding and some of our guests didn't see sun until the day they were leaving.  Fortunately, the morning of our wedding was sunny and the rain held off just long enough for us to have our ceremony outside cheesy.gif

I know all about wanting to watch the weather every minute leading up to your wedding, but trust me it will do you no good.  The weather reports are never right.  Your time will be better spent enjoying your time with your FI, planning your wedding, anything else!  Just remember that for all you stress about it now, it won't matter one bit come your wedding day.  You'll be marrying the love of your life and that's all you'll be thinking about!

I've just put deposits down for October 22nd and 23rd 2011 so I'm right there with ya! I'm checking the weather every day this month and making a "log" - so far so good! They seem to predict more rain than actually falls. What resort did you book? You and I and plently of other October 2011 brides will be doing the no-rain dance for the next year. I'm feeling positive that we'll have GREAT weather!!

Hi there we have booked the Grand Rivera Princess.  Where have you booked??? Still really worried about the weather though it is good that they seem to predict more rain than actually falls.  Also I have heard that the rain out in Mexico isn't quite what I get here at home. I am really excited about everything :-)

We've got deposits down at 4 different resorts (NOW Sapphire, Jade, Dreams, Azul Sensatori) in Puerto Morelos until we visit next month to decide! But we're pretty darn set on the date! From what I hear the rain is more tropical, and can fall for a few minutes and then clear. I imagine it like Hawaii where it's almost refreshing. I don't have a choice but to be positive about it at this point, it was stressing me out BIG TIME for awhile (like when I started this thread begging for help!?!) I figure later in October is safer than October 1 like we originally planned.

Wow you are really lucky to be able to visit before you decide where to book we've just had to go by the internet and travel brochures, Azul Sensatori looks lovely and we were considering going there to get married.  Have now decided to stop worrying about the weather cos I think I am getting on everyone' nerves at the mo LOL and am going to enjoy the day no matter what the weather and I also thought that end of Oct was the better option. How long you going for? We flying out on 16th Oct.

When it rains it only rains for a little while usually unless it's just that one major storm that sticks around, but I wouldn't stress about it. I think everything will be lovely.

Thanks for this it does make me feel better have now decided just to relax and stop worrying, hope you had a lovely stay :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
