Opinions needed! Riviera Maya Wedding - what's better, June/July or early October?

My FI and I have been throwing out "October 2011" to friends and family as a wedding timeframe for months now. We didn't move fast enough and a friend booked her wedding October 29th. So I feel like the earliest I can do in October is the 1st (or the 8th if I want to push it). I'm freaking about weather at that time. The weather forcast this year is for all rain, everyday. Yuck. Can I really take that chance?

Soooooo....the other option is to book it for June or July, which seems a lot sooner and a little more complicated in terms of working around existing plans but it's doable if the weather will be more reliable.

I know there's no PERFECT formula here; I've been on a dozen weather websites to see past patterns. I'm just hoping to get some REAL feedback and hear others' experiences.

Thank you in advance!!!

If it were me, I would go for a fall or spring wedding in the Caribbean.  I've been in the middle of the summer and it can be soooo hot!!  It would be hard to be all dressed up in that heat.  The Caribbean is still real nice in the fall or spring and the weather much more bearable.  This is just my opinion though. LOL!  Happy planning and Congrats!

Check out this Season Guide From Del Sol located here

They live down there in Playa Del Carman i think and they shoot weddings their every week, so I am guessing they are the experts on it. Its written from the perspective of Matt and Sol, owners of Del So, not just a copy and paste from the weather channel.com or something. This is probably as Real as the Information gets

While I am guessing everyone has their own opinion on whats best,  it really depends what you are looking for. =)

Welcome and congrats, it hard to predict the weather and that is always a concern when booking a destination wedding. We chose to go with November so that we were outside of hurricane season and didn't have to worry about all the rain, I got engaged in September and I was in school at the time so planning a spring wedding was just going to be a bit too much for me between studying for my boards and everything. I would say if go with either spring or fall. Summer can be wonderful but the chances of rain are high and the summer heat can also be killer. Good luck with your decision and happy planning!

Thanks everyone, every opinion counts and I have a feeling there's no clear perfect answer. It's gonna take a little leap of faith whenever we choose to do it. I would love nothing more for last week of October/first week of November but with our friends booking on the 29th, it makes it pretty hard. I'm trying not to get upset about it :( There are still options and I'd love to hear more opinions. Is early June safer heat/rain wise than July?

skadow - thanks for that webstie link - awesome! I had pm-ed Matt a few hours before you sent that, great minds think alike! It has great information but it's not totally what I want to hear about early October...bummer.

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! Here is the best advice I can give you... you can look at the weather all you want... but it could rain on any given day! Sure... the weather is predictable during the dry season... but it still rains every once and a while and there is nothing you can do about it. We had a freak rain last for a week this April... and it rained ALL WEEK! So... its up to you. June/July are very hot... and October is much nicer for weather.

I wish you the best of luck... and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Weather is so so unpredictable here though.... good luck planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
