anyone getting married 'just the 2 of you?'........

Recommended Posts

Hi girls,

Just wondering if anyone is getting married just the 2 of you?!

I am!!!!!!!  We just decided to take away all the stress and trying to impress everyone else and go off by ourselves to the beautiful secrets maroma beach.  We will have a reception at home when we are married.  This will be a casual affair - an outdoor summer bbq style!

Anyone else doing the same?........

lol! loads of people say this!!

I really am not one for centre of attention and was quite nervous about the walk down the aisle but now i just cant wait to walk down the beach!

Of course I have a beautiful dress and will get to wear it twice!!  Another reason tbh is budget!!  i know i would not have been happy without a real wow factor wedding to impress my guests and we were stressing how to deliver this!  now we dont have to worry!  and secrets maroma beach looks AMAZING!  going for 2 weeks in paradise!!!!!!!

I just started my planning and I am already frustrated. My guest list is only 55 ppl but my Fiance's guest list has 175ppl. This got expensive really fast and I only wanted a small wedding but because his family is hispanic....i guess they have to invite everyone.

Your plan sounds really good to me right now.

Actually, that's exactly what we're doing. We're going away, just the two of us, in December, to Hawaii and having an AHR in April. I loved the idea of the intimacy of eloping and the fact that it took only a few days to settle everything. Plus, we get an amazing holiday out of it as well. Our families were disappointed, my mother especially, but they've since come around.

We are going to be "just the two of us" when we get married in Costa Rica next March

We have always wanted to get married abroad and neither of are families are able to make the long journey.

We are open to people coming along if the want to but have not specifically asked anyone as we are conscious that it would be quite costly for them to travel from the UK.

I havent even thought about whether we will have an AHR when we get back... still in the early stages of planning and only 5 and a half months to go eeek !!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I am too! We are getting married in January just the 2 of us in St. Thomas. I've always wanted to elope. I've never wanted the big weddings like the rest of my family. My FI and I don't like all the attention on us either. This way is stress free and drama free. My family would like to do a AHR for us when we get back. We'll see. I can go either way with that. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
