Non Glass Centerpiece??? Any Ideas?

Recommended Posts

Nope I haven't, sorry. But sounds pretty!

I bought plastic frames from Michaels. I also bought those white pails (think favor pails) for my votives and blinged them out. Will also have some shells scattered on the tables. I didn't want anything breakable.

YES! Because thats what I am looking for!  This is a couple ideas I had:

Centrepieces - I actually think I will do something with metal buckets because they travel well.  These are my current ideas:

So I would do the first picture, but fill it with water and floating candles (maybe put some sparkles in the water), and around the bottom do greenery with some tropical flowers in our colours.  I can probably get a metal stand to put inside the bucket of water with our table numbers on it.  I may paint it with white metallic and put a coloured ribbon around it.

And with a pail - it can be as rustic as you want it to be, or as elegant.  You can take off the handle and paint it. You can leave it as is!

That, OR try something like this:

And I would probably bring my own candles and do something like this (and add maybe a monogram sticker or a thin ribbon on it:

Driftwood would travel well but is a bit heavy.

I found white metal lanterns on clearance at Target. We are using those with a wooden letter and small vases of flowers. Cheaper than a large flower centerpiece! I was able to fit all 5 lanterns in one suitcase along with a lot of other stuff! We are only having 29 people though.

I found plastic frames at michaels for table numbers. I'm also using small white pails (favor pails) as votive holders. I added some bling. Sprinkling shells on the table and using my BM bouquets as the flowers. Hoping they will supply the vases as they are purchased flowers. If not, oh well. I'm not packing anymore!!! I will find a cup ha

was thinking of just getting dollar store battery operated candles and creating a "votive" out of vellum so they can be covered, b/c they are ugly otherwise! lol and perhaps having handmade paper flowers scattered over the tables.

I would have different height candles/votive to create a more dynamic feel to the table.

In my opinion it's all about lighting...helps create that magical ambiance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
