So far, I've lost 6 pounds in just under 3 weeks on Nutrisystem. Not too bad considering I haven't worked out at all.

BUT. . . the food is weird. It's ALL pantry food. NOTHING goes in the fridge. Strange!!!! For example, they give you chicken salad and turkey hotdogs that don't need to be refrigerated. What's wrong with that picturehuh.gif Anyway, as far as cost, it's not bad at all. I think it works out to just under $10 a day. But I don't see anyone being able to stay on it for a long period of time. All those preservatives can't be good for you.

So, I decided to finish the month of food they sent me and then go back to WW. I've always done well on WW. It just takes a little more time and effort to count everything out. Oh well.

jen - that is funny - hotdogs that don't go in fridge - WEIRD smile41.gif

it says they delivery anwhere in the US - this is of course the frozen but i live 40 min from a 'fresh' pick up and i am doing the frozen b/c i am busy and lazy HAHAH

Diet Food Home Delivery | Healthy Meals by Mail from Diet-to-Go

also the woman i spoke with has done both the fresh and frozen and she said that it is 90% the same except they don't freeze the salads and a couple other things otherwise it is the same meals?

--------------

BTW - if anyone does wind up calling, PM me 1st b/c there is a referral credit for free deliveries!

I did Jenny Craig. I would go pick up the meals every friday at a Jenny Craig center and buy a weeks worth. You can also get delivery and order online. Some of my food was frozen some of it you just kept in the pantry. Jen I also thought that keeping it in the pantry thing was weird. I found that the frozen food tasted so much better. I used to spend about $130 a week. It was actually pricey and that is why I stopped. I followed the thing religiously and I lost a lot of weight. The first week I lost 6 pounds and the weeks after that I kept losing 3 pounds per week. But I would exercise 5 days a week and I didn't cheat, and I didn't drink any alcohol. Also, after awhile I stopped eating the desserts and I the pounds would just fall off. Its hard doing that though.

The problem that I have with these things is that they are not realistic. What am I going to do eat frozen food for the rest of my life? Plus, even though you are losing weight, they really aren't healthy at all. They have so many preservatives, etc. It was a good start for me though b/c I learned to figure out what 1,200 a day looks like. And now I know what portions should be. (teeny, tiny and microscopic)

I also wanted to do the Zone diet delivery but here in NY it is like $50 a day or something crazy like that. I def could not afford that.

Good luck with the meals I hope you lose the weight and you like the meals. cheer2.gif

Ok - so the food came late yesterday afternoon - it was packed in a styrofoam cooler with dry ice and a non-perishable box on top. i have to say i was really surprised when i unpacked it - at how big the portions looked and how good the food looked!

i had the 'breakfast pizza' this AM - it was REALLY, REALLY good so off to a good start! smile123.gif

i will keep you posted on the rest!

Jen,

i am very impressed so far! yesterday's meals very VERY GOOD!

Breakfast was the Pizza with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and cheese.

Lunch was a HUGE turkey burger on whole wheat roll (i added lettuce and tomato), ketchup packet and side of mandarin oranges.

Dinner was Mac n' Cheese with broccoli and carrrots (i added a side salad with balsamic vinegar)

after yoga i had an apple.

i wasn't really hungry until last night because i went to Power Yoga and i am used to snacking and chomping out after dinner!

as for the menu - because of their rotaton - i am on the 'week 3' menu and about to place my order for next week, which will be 'week 4'.

you don't have to go over it unless you want to make changes or substitutions (i chose to call and go over it because there were a couple of meals i wasn't into).

I have dfone a Zone Delivery diet and it's pretty good. It was harder for me because I'm a pseudo-vegetarian (I DO eat seafood) so my choices were very limited. The desserts are great. You can eat out/drink occasionally but you jjust won't lose as much weight - and you'll waste money. So if you're going to do it - you need to be dedicated. It's easy to eat the dinner they send you and still be very hungry.

However it does work - but like any diet there's no guarantee you would keep the weight off once you stop. I do WW now and while it's harder it's a lot more flexible (you can account for your drinks/snacks as long as you eat the correct number of points per day).

I have pretty much done every diet in the world. I think WW and eDiets are probably the best fo losing weight and keeping it off.

Speaking of which - i am off to my WW meeting!

Ok Ladies, a friend of mine at work told me about a new program at Chefsdiet.com - came out this week (I think they're the same as the Zone diet.) They now have a program that delivers 14 days worth of frozen foods for $9.99 a day. Here's the catch, it's only breakfast, dinner and 2 snacks (or lunch, dinner and two snacks - for $10.99.) You still have to supply one meal on your own. AND . . . you have to commit for 3 months. My co-worker is getting her shipment on Thursday so I'll let you know what she says.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
