My Semi DIY Boarding Pass STDs w/ Pics!

Recommended Posts

FINALLY I have finished my semi-DIY boarding pass STDs!!!! thewave.gif

Stardream metallic paper - Flame $30

Metallic Paper - Linen Pearl $9

Metallic Envelopes - Quartz $30

Raffia - $3.50

Personalized Stamps from Zazzle.com - $50

Boarding Pass desing by Jennifer Alison Designs - $75

Office Max Printing - $8

Craft supplies - $free , already had it all

This was the most tedious thing I have EVER done! I had Jennifer Alison design the file for my boarding pass STD after I spent about a week trying to design my own and realized I'm not that savvy. She had designed my monograms (5 monograms for $15!!!) and they turned out awesome so I knew she would do a fabulous job on the boarding passes, which she did! I couldnt be happier with how they look. Then I spend hours cutting them out which was a pain in the butt and it doesnt help that I'm a perfectionist. Then I did the pocket folds which took a few more hours to cut out, fold & glue, another pain the butt task Then tied raffia around them to give a finishing touch because i thought they looked too plain without anything. For the envelopes I ended up having to use "clear" address labels because my injet wouldnt print on the metallic paper and didnt want to take them somewhere to have printed. They say they are clear but really they are like a vellum-y texture so you can see them on the envelope which i am not happy about but oh well. I also have custom stamps made at Zazzle.com with one of our monograms on it, and they turned out great! Although I am really happy with the end product If I had them to do all over again I dont think I would DIY them, I'd just pay somebody to do them. In the end I think they ended up costing me more $ then if I had payed somebody to do them in the first place and a lot of time and stress. But here they are...

all your hard work paid off - they look great.  And your guests will be so impressed.  I agree its a pain to do all the cutting - I have a blister on my thumb from doing the corner edges on my STDs (didn't help that I had to make a second set after we changed the date!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
