Soon2bemrspierce - I'm suprised to hear that - and even more suprised that you were able to get group rates already for next year. What travel agent are you using? I'm going to contact mine (my wedding is planned for 6.22.12) and see what I can find out price wise and see if they are comparable to the ones already offered and report back :)

I've been working with Patty from this site(wright travel agency). She said that sometimes the group rate isn't a deal,it's just to ensure that you have rooms blocked for your guests. She also mentioned that maybe since it's so far in advance that that's why there's no deal and to wait a little bit and try again....Yes please let me know what  your travel agent says.Back in Nov. I was looking to see how much it would be for this May (to get an idea what it would be for next year) and expedia was saying @1000 per person for 7 nights with air.I just assumed it would be @ that price.

Welcome! My parents was new to the whole destination wedding thing and took awhile to warm up to the idea. Now they are all booked and very excited to Mexico for our wedding.

I hope you find great ideas on here. All the brides are so helpful!

Good luck with planning.

Have any of you ladies picked your reception place choice?I understand it's a first come first serve basis right? The wc says I can choose now but not sure which one.I'd like to have the Portofino if I have a group that's @30(have a feeling I'd have more then this but you never know) but if larger I'd want the himitsu.

Just waiting confirmation on being a Dreams Punta Cana 2012 bride :) So much to think about! Hoping great things for all of us!!!!! Working with the travel agent to negotiate pricing and emailing the wedding coordinators myself. I sent the request form in today, waiting for confirmation to send off the deposit! So excited and completely nervous at the same time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
