Doing your own bridal make up?

I have chosen to do my own make up on the day. I have spent an absolute fortune on Bobbi Brown make up and brushes etc. My FI is like you best look amazing on the day from the amount you have spent on make up lol.

Has anybody else spent a fortune on products for their special day? Anybody else use the Bobbi Brown range?

I completely understand wanting to look your very best for this very important day, I love getting my makeup done too but my confidence in unfamiliar makeup artists on my small single eyelid asian eyes and "yellow" skin tone is low.

Actually, I'm an esthetician with a makeup background, a bit worried I will be nervous! But a couple of my BMs are in the industry too so I'm counting on them to make sure I don't draw my eyeliner all wavy.

With lots of practice, trial runs, the right tools I don't see why gals that want to do their own makeup can't. No one knows your face better than you and remember to blend, blend, blend.

Don't forget to take photos inside and out, close and far to make sure you get the results you want on camera!

I am doing my own makeup too!  Like Rosieposie said, no one knows your face better than you and I am asian also and I just do not trust a resort makeup artist.

So I did spent fortune on makeup products... Starting from buying Temptu Airbrushing Device from Sephora.... I kind of rationalized that that was also a birthday gift to myself....:)  I also went to MAC and bought a couple brushes, eye shadows, etc.   My wedding is about a week away and I still have to do some practice run before I leave on Wednesday!!

I've been a BM in 3 weddings and everytime the pro make up artist has put on way too much makeup for my taste(and my FIs). I'll admit it looks good in photos, but in person it is too heavy. Add that to the Mexican heat and I am afraid I will be really uncomfortable on my wedding day.  Also it is $80 to get a pro to do it at the resort!   It is bad enough I spent $100 on hair exentions plus the cost of my updo! I am thinking of getting one of my BM to help me out or just practicing lots and doing it myself.  I think I'll check out that air brush foundation from sephora too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
