Not happy about my Marriage License

Recommended Posts

yay!  I'm glad you finally got it and can officially become MRS!

I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to use the copy we get when we're down there.  I've heard some people are able to use the unofficial copy while others are denied and must wait.  I guess it's just up to the DMV/Social Security clerks discretion?

I got married on 7/30/2010 (Friday) in MBJ - so if you start counting on Monday 8/2 - first business day after...I'm in my sixth week & no marriage license yet :(  I thought they said six weeks, so I'm at least waiting until the weekend & then I'll email my coordinator next week if it hasn't come by then.  Good luck to the rest of you, I'm anxious about changing my name too :)  (not so anxious to stand in the long line at Social Security though! ha!) :)

YAY...great news!  That must have been a long 4 months and 8 days of waiting!

Yes ladies...it was a long time coming...good luck with those of you whom have not received it yet and I hope that you get it much sooner than I did!!!  But, like Mrs.J.2011 said...you can always try using the marriage certificate that you receive right after your married and see if it works.  I do suggest that you call your local Social Security Office and DMV to make sure they except it first, before you wait in lines for nothing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
