It has been 4 months since I was married at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa and I have yet to receive my Marriage license.  At the beginning, I was told it would take about 2 months to receive.  After about 2 1/2 months I sent an email to my wedding coordinator Yolandi, in which she responded that normal time is 2 to 3 months for license receipt.  3 1/2 months passed and nothing, so I sent yet another email asking when it will be received because I needed it for insurance purposes, she responded with we are in receipt of the marriage licenses and you will be receiving them by the middle of next week.  Well, a week and a half has now passed since that email and I have not received my marriage license yet.  Has anyone else had this same experience?  I'm not sure what to do from here.  Do I just continue to wait?  Is there someone else I need to call?  I think this is getting a little ridiculous.  I mean here I am excited about getting married and I can't even change my name legally yet!  Please help!

How frustrating. I hope i dont have the same problem, once you are married you want to change your name on everything straight away dont you. I think you should just keep on at them, i think part of the trouble is they are so much more laid back about everything than we are.

I have the same trouble with my WC at the moment and we havent even been out there to get married yet. Im now just leaving it and saving all my questions for when we get out there.

Im sure somebody who is married will be along shortly to advise you of their experience. Hope you get it sorted soon x

it took 4 months for ours to arrive from mexico, so i know exactly what you're going through! hang in there! i'm sure if they've received it on their end now, you should be receiving it shortly.

Not that this will make you feel better, but my Resort in Negril, Jamaica told us it would be anywhere from 6-12 months. FRUSTRATING! But what can you do. I have heard that it does come, on Island time!!

That sounds sooo frustrating.  Hopefully, it'll arrive ASAP!

I suggest contacting resort management if you do not receive it within the next week or so.  If she said it should be there then you are justified in being worried.  I understand it may take longer sometimes but she said one thing and unless she gives you a reason as to why its different this time, I would move up the chain to see if it can be resolved that way.  Good luck!

I got married in Jamaica in July. I had my marriage license back in 3 weeks. I have heard others say theirs took awhile. I may have just got lucky. I would be worried about it too! Have you tried calling them?

did you use a TA?  Maybe he or she would have better luck getting a straight answer from them?

Don't they give you some other kind of form for proof of your marriage so you can change your name once you get back home?
