Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Yup I used Cindy but I booked her thru DestinationWeddings.com.  She does have her own company called Forever Honeymoon.  I did a group contract when I had my wedding facilitated by DestinationWeddings.com.  It was a bit of a pain in the ass because there is some financial liability to do it; but what I did was did the group contract for only 10 people which were myself & husband, our parents, and our wedding party.  That locked us in at a pretty good rate, and then if anyone else wanted to get a locked in rate at our price they were added on but I had to approve or decline their request to be added into the group contract (that was key b/c there is still a bit of financial liability with the additions).  But the reason I did it all was b/c we got comp'd things and kickbacks at the end b/c we had x# of rooms booked in our group contract (with the additional people who came in afterwards); that was pretty cool we got $ kicked back to us.  Also, when I saw that some websites like expedia, orbitz, travelocity and even the resort itself had a better room rate, I contacted Cindy and her company matched the lower rate we would see online, so it all worked out.  My sister in law actually got a credit back for over $500 because of that!  So, there are pros and cons with doing the group rate contract; you just have to weigh all your options.

It seems like whenever a hotel or resort knows there is a wedding prices sky rocket!

Yes, I've used Wright Travel and I'm using Patty right now. I'll say she's OK, but not amazing or anything. Maybe she deals with a lot of people every day, and that's why she's made a lot of small mistakes on things. I don't know, but I'm hoping she turns out to be the best choice.

Who are you talking to over there?

I started off with Cindy, but she gave me a quote with a promotion that was no longer available. So, I had my hopes up expecting to get that promotion and was ready to sign, but then she told me that she had copy and pasted it wrong. See they use the same word documents for each quote and they just copy and paste the new info in there. And, you know how that goes, you don't always catch everything. So, I stopped working with her and went to Patty.

Patty said they can book our airfare as well, but she won't help us find deals. She'll only book the air for the price it is right then.

Hi Ladies! I have a couple of questions that i'm hoping some of you former brides could help me with! Has anyone used or rented a photobooth for their wedding reception? If so, what company did you use and how was your experience with them? Price estimate?

Also, if you have used HDC or any other photog outside the hotel's, to avoid the $1000 fee, did you have to get them a room for 3 nights or just for 1 night? And if so, did you only have to get a room for the main photog or for his entire team? My wedding is June 14th of this year and i know i still have time (5 months) to sort out the details but as the day approaches i have more and more questions that id like to know sooner rather than later :) Hope to hear from you ladies soon! As always thanks so much in advance!! xo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
