Does PPC require and/or have a resort photographer?  If so do they charge a fee to bring in another?

Yes, they use Tropic One Studio (a.k.a. Arrecife) as their preferred vendor. I used them for my wedding and although they are pricey, the photos were stunning and well worth it! Unfortunately, PPC will charge $1000 to use an outside vendor.

Hello!

My wedding was this past Saturday and I cant even express how beautiful my pictures came out. I didn't use the photographer at the resort as they were to expense. I used Ambrogetti Ameztoy Photo. Sebastian and Martin were by my side from beginning to the end. If you would like their info and to see my wedding pics email me at yalitza0408@@gmail.com

Happy Planning!!

If you don't mind how much did Tropic One Studio cost for your wedding pics can't find the prices online? Thanks trying to create my budget.

I would budget at least $1000-2000 for your photos

Hello Ladies!

My wedding was July 26 2014 and I must say everything came out BEAUTIFUL!!! You will not regret having your wedding at PPC. I had 60guest and I went with the tailor made package, so I had a weekend full of fun. I had my wedding ceremony on the beach at 5pm, cocktail hour on the beach and the reception in the ballroom. I must say what made my wedding extra special was having my wedding planner Theresa by my side the whole time.  I went with an outside photographer and videographer who were awesome!!!   If you have any questions or concerns please ask as this forum helped me a lot when I was in the planning stages.

Happy Planning and Best of Luck!

The photographer/videographer pricing for all the vendors I looked into around punta cana is far exceeding my budgeted amount. I had originally booked HDC for my photographer and was going to use the in house Tropic One for videographer. The rates are really high and considering I have to pay $1k for using HDC, I think I may cancel with them and just use Tropic One. Because I am expecting 125 people, I am probably going to choose the biggest photo/video package and it will cost me around $4000. This is almost double what I budgeted but its also the most important thing to me so I'm just going to suck it up. I know I will be grateful every year I look back at pictures and videos :)

Thanks for sharing your album!! I love the pictures, they came out beautiful!  I am getting married a PPC next summer, August 15th, 2015.  I am planning on having about 75-100 people.  I was wondering what you thought about the Caney Ballroom.  I am having trouble picking a place to have the reception that will comfortably allow for that many people.  I am also unsure of what package to go with!  Which package did you choose?? Any information or advice you have about such a large group for the wedding would be great!  Thank you!!  Christina :)

I also am having a large group for my wedding and was wondering what package you went with?  I still haven't decided!  What is your date?  I am doing next summer (8/15/15)  Thanks!

It's been almost 10 months since we were married at PPC and I decided to hop on here to see how the weddings went for the "pending" brides from around that time.

From what I gather, changes in policy at the resort is upping the cost of current weddings. Even at a higher cost, I'd still do it again in a heartbeat!

If there's any advice I can offer to those trying to keep costs down, it would be to keep your decor simple & don't overthink it. The resort itself provides a great backdrop. You don't need much to give your location(s) a wedding inspired feel. Focus on yourself and things that will impact the experience of your guests (setting, food & music).

Best of wishes and congratulations to you all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
