Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Thank you Julia!!

Does anyone have experience with using the ipod docking station instead of using a DJ? Any tips?

I also would love to know any tips regarding the iPod dock.

I know that it also comes with a Mic and Speaker which is nice. I'm just putting songs on my iPod and categorizing them (e.g. ceremony, reception eating, reception dancing, first dance newlyweds/mom/dad, etc…) I'm hoping that makes it easy enough.

We changed to the grill buffet - option 1 last minute and it was AMAZING! I enjoyed all of the food they had out at the buffet!

I'm glad I came across your post! Thats the same menu option I choose. :)

Congrats Katrice on booking your wedding at PPC! I'm sure you'll find after reading through this forum that you made a great choice!

I didn't go with the Tailor Made package because I only have 15 guests. In the beginning, I went with Chill Out Chic because I was sure I would have 25-30 guests, but people have had difficulty coming up with the money to go and have opted out. As of just last month, I changed my package to the Fantasy package and added on a reception. They were very flexible and allowed me to change it hassle free. So you can change your package to match your guest list throughout the process :)

Happy planning!

Thanks Jenn! I'm not going to have that many guests either..i don't think.  But I liked the welcome BBQ and the stuff that came with the package. I didn't think of adding on. Did it come out cheaper?

I'm having a welcome dinner but instead of having an "official" set up, I'm just going to make reservation at a restaurant and tell everyone to meet there because its FREE.

The fantasy package plus adding on the reception was much cheaper than going with the chill out chic package. The chill out chic was based on 24 guests and because I only have 15 guests, we were paying way more than we needed too with that package. The Fantasy package is based on 10 guests so we just paid for 5 more guests (TIP: Choose children as your extra guests because they are much cheaper to add on than adults!).

Hope that helps! But keep in mind that if you have closer to 24 guests, the price of adding on goes up and Chill Out Chic may become the more affordable option. Same with all the other packages as your guest list grows!

Have a great weekend!

Jenn

So we officially fly out in less than a month!! I'm feeling overwhelmed!!

Did anyone else find it difficult to work with Caribbean Celebrations for wedding extras? I feel like I have a million questions but all I can do is email them back and forth and it takes forever to get a response back! Time is running out here!! lol

Just had to vent!

Hi ladies!!! i just got back from my wedding!!! I wrote a review on tip advisor so I just copied and pasted it! If you have specific questions let me know!!  I attached a link from my photographer (who we flew down for the occasion) and here are some photos to give you an idea of the chill out chic package :) http://oldsouthstudios.com/danielle-joes-first-lookpunta-cana-dominican-republic/

My husband and I were married on May 17, 2014 at the Paradisus Punta Cana resort. Having a destination wedding was the absolute best choice and having it here was amazing. When our group of 75 showed up on Wed-Thursday we found out they upgraded the whole group(yes the whole group, 75 of us!!) to the Reserve. We were completely shocked. It was such an awesome surprise. Our room was awesome and had a great view of the pool!! The Reserve was perfect for all of us because we all could find each other easy! The bartenders at the pool bar ( shout to Rodolfo- you were the best!) were friendly and fun and make some great drinks. The Buffett was okay. We totally recommend Vento! We didn't get a chance to really eat at a lot of restaurants because of our welcome party, rehearsal dinner and wedding nights had us booked. Make sure you book your reservations when you get there the first day. They fill up fast and won't let you eat without a reservation. We didn't try Passion (the one that costs money) but our guests did and raved about it! The overall appearance of the resort is amazing. The main hotel lobby is awesome and the grounds were gorgeous. Our wedding coordinator was Beatrice and she was such a blessing! She was so responsive and genuine. She did whatever she could to make our day special. She was able to throw together a welcome Party with 7 hours notice and it was perfect. We were able o hand out the welcome bags there :) then We had the rehearsal dinner at Gabi Beach. That bar has an awesome view! The lit up trees and beach right there was so nice, especially with the breeze. Again it was a Buffett and was decent but you do need a reservation and you can't make it until you are 30 days out Tom your wedding. Our wedding day was perfect. Perfect weather (6pm ceremony on the beach) and gorgeous cocktail hour (again on the beach). The reception looked awesome (Caney ballroom). I explained to Beatrice how I wanted it and it looked exactly how I imagined! The food wasn't great (Caribbean Buffett menu) but the DJ was awesome and the crowd was always dancing. One thing that was negative was that they did not have the AC on until people showed up at the ballroom. It was so hot and hard to cool down with 75 of us in there. If you have your reception in there make sure the AC is on a hour (at least) before any guest steps foot inside. The day was unforgettable and I am truly amazed on how smooth it went. I can't thank Beatrice enough- thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Oh and check out the main pool behind Gabi Beach- it's pretty cool. And thank god for the shuttles- the resort is so huge you need to use them If you are at the Reserve! We will definitely be coming back to the Reserve at the Paradisus Punta Cana!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
