Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Give US Airway a call and see if your flight has business or first class.  If they do, they usually have a closet you can hang the dress it.

Maybe they can make a notation on your reservation.  Or when you check in you can remind them at the gate.

I flew Jet Blue which has no first class.  I bought a soft garment bag http://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/13dbc2a03d4a0b54

and when I got the gate I asked if I could priority board with it.

I got on first and just took up the whole overhead and made sure no one put stuff on it!

My dress was chiffon but I still had it steamed at the hotel... I dont remember the exact cost but I think it was the 15$ range... so worth it.

Hi, futurearlington, I don't know if it's too late (how far you are in the planning stages with the Miami office), but I am working with Theresa Calcos of barefootbride.com and HIGHLY recommend her. She used to work on site at PPC--she is the one who created all of the romance packages. She has an agreement with the resort so that she may still offer the packages although she is an independent planner. She does NOT work on commission (she charges a flat rate) so she is always looking for ways to save me money. Example---I will have at least 11 children at my wedding. She informed me that kids are half price to add on to a package (we are doing Aqua as our base with add-ons as we go). She will make sure that the KIDS are reported as my extras over 24, rather than the adults. I don't think the PPC planners would do this b/c it would be less money earned for them. this savings alone already paid for her fee! :) I've had so many questions throughout the process (our wedding is July of 2013), and Theresa is super quick to respond. We schedule calls to plan each part of our wedding (color palette, ceremony, flowers, cocktail, rehearsal beach BBQ--one of our add-ons, and reception). She planned her son's wedding there last fall, so she really knows the ins and outs of the resort. I'm happy to share money-saving tips as I get them. Good luck with your planning! :)

Oops, meant to reply to sarahKbride. Thanks but all of our planning & selections are done for our November 2013 wedding. Since we're keeping it beach casual (sundresses & flip flops), we didn't stray far from the package we selected & only upgraded the bar & music/entertainment. Plus, since we live & work in a resort town that gets busy starting May 1, we buckled down & made sure all of the planning was done by the end of February so other than finding a dress for me & putting together welcome bags for the guests, wedding planning is complete for us! Congratulations & please share your wedding experience with us once your back home!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
