Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Recommended Posts

Well I had my planning call today which went pretty well except for one thing: they tried to tell me I have to pay the $1200 external vendor fee because I'm using RSE instead of DJ Mannia. This really INFURIATED me because it was their own WC that told me several months ago they had added RSE as a preferred vendor due to all the complaints about DJ Mannia, I'd never even heard of RSE. They told me they will look into it but I should look for the email that the WC sent me saying RSE was a preferred vendor. I mean WTF?! I really don't have the time to go thru 12 months of email correspondence. And as luck may have it, the WC who I'd been working with is on an extended medical leave. Grrrreat. So I'm fighting them on this. Now I've got it inmy head I don't wan to use DJ Mannia nor am I willing to pay $1200 when I was told my DJ is their new preferred vendor!!!

ughhhh another tragic happening with PPC! some of their rules are just too much... plus everyone tries to sell you on different things- everything is different no matter who you talk to which is so infuriating. I hope you can find your email on that- it's so ridiculous how they pigeon-hole brides into these choices without giving any options at all. truly unfortunate. I wonder if all resorts are like this? at this point I am so "over" planning the wedding- I wish I could go next week plan nothing else and just go! haha :) at least the rest of the planning sounded like it went well... that's one positive!

Mariel12,

We booked the wedding in January of 2011 through the Miami office. At that time the WC said that she was not sure if the entice me incentive would be available for 2012. It became available and I requested it right before the final payment. I had already changed the package from the Aqua to the Chill Out. If your date is confirmed, make sure you request that option because the website is already advertising it for January 2013. Don't let them tell you "no". As you can see, the management will try to get away with charging for things that other brides haven't paid. We saved $2,000 with the Entice Me.

lmazz729, thnx for the answer. i was reading a bit more about it and i think it wouldnt apply anyway towards my date. i'm assuming that your daughter got married within the promotional dates for which the entice me package was available (ex. jan 4-feb 29, sept 1-oct 31 & dec 1-dec 22). as i looked thru the packages info, my date - june 14th - doesnt fall between those dates so i dont think it would apply. right? thnx for the info anyway perhaps theres another bride to be that could take advantage of it!

I just got married July 13th, I got married on the beach and there were people there. I will say i was afraid of that as well but it actually was rather nice they all stood up when I walked down the aisle and clapped when the ceremony was over. I did hold a vow renewal for my parents while I was there and held it in the garden. It was pretty but as for privacy.... don't fool yourself it is across a sidewalk from the gym and about 10 steps away from the front lobby. I think you will be happy with either location but no matter what there will be people around so follow your heart and have what you really desire.

Hey ladies- thanks for all the feedback.

I actually spoke with Theresa yesterday- thanks for the tip Ayansi! She is so sweet. She also helped me to sort through exactly what I was going for. I guess the moral of the story is I probably will not be completely satisfied until I get down there to see the 3 locations. I think, given everyone's feedback that the way to go is to do the ceremony and cocktail at the gazebo.

Maridr, have you heard back about an explanation for the setup if you do both there? My biggest concern with this was that I have 50 guests, and I don't want anyone squeezed in around the gazebo (inside the fencing) but would like everyone seated out in the grassy area (see attached picture) I haven't really seen any pictures where this was done and the cocktail area was also set up there. Is there enough room for both is my concern?

I also was told by Theresa that the garden area would be really hot at 12pm and would have little breeze... so maybe my guests will be more comfortable at the gazebo as well. Janine, thanks for the feedback about the "privacy" of the garden spot. I actually asked about the mangrove area-- looks EXACTLY like what I want and was disappointed to be told that the mangrove garden area only holds 25 people. :*(

Oh, also Theresa told me that the WC in Miami are NOT employees of PPC! This all makes sense now..they are actually a planning company named ASK ME who PPC hires out to plan their weddings. I am thinking about contacting Migulina directly to ask her what she thinks the best set up would be as she is onsite at the PPC. I guess it couldn't hurt~

If you follow Romance by Paradisus on Facebook they have a pic of the chairs outside the Gazebo at the PPC. They put them up yesterday and looked great!

Hey ladies!! Sorry I have been MIA for a little while but things have been absolutely insane starting about a month before the wedding (My fiances' dad passed away suddenly), then we left and eloped in Vegas the weekend before we left for the DR! We then flew out to the DR and had the best wedding anyone could even image!!

I want to start out by saying Miguelina was amazing! She made sure everything was perfect and I honestly felt zero stress with putting everything in her hands.

We used RSE as our DJ and they did an AMAZING JOB!! We actually were officially booked with DJ Mannia but after hearing lots of complaints we switched over and honestly I was soooo happy with them!

We used HDC for our photographer and videographer and we could tell how passionate they were about their work. Milan did such an amazing job and we LOVE everything they did.

The resort is amazing and absolutely GORGEOUS but do be prepared to do a lot of walking. The resort is VERY big and VERY spread out but we didn't mind it one bit and would do it all over again. I will tell you it was SOOOOO HOT but it was August 11, 2012 when we did get married so what can you expect!

I am going to include some pictures from our wedding. If you have any questions or concerns about this resort you can email me at mrsdeemyers@gmail.com or if you want to see more pictures!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
