Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Recommended Posts

I have just accidentally found this site. And yes it is super helpful.  I am getting married on 1/25/13 so I'm sure @Jocel26 we will cross paths!

Although, I sent my credit card information and paperwork information over a week and a half ago and they still haven't confirmed anything yet.

I'm an inpatient New Yorker and this is already testing my nerves.  Plus when I spoke to to them on Wednesday and asked if the room block was at least set up she had no idea I even requested one, completely missed it on the cover letter of my fax.  Then she sent me additional paperwork to fill out.

We're expecting a larger wedding 80-100 people.  Does anyone know if any of the restaurants can accommodate that size for a rehearsal dinner?

You guys are all great for posting so much useful info!

We've requested a Royal Ocean view Suite for ourselves... should we go lower and hope we get upgraded?

YOu guys are great for sharing all of this info!

Hi LoriOlivia,

My daughter got married this January at PPC. I think that Luna is the only restaurant big enough to accommodate that many people. I suggest you e-mail the Romance Team directly to find out.If you go through the WC in Miami (or wherever) they will quote you something that is probably not accurate. We had a dinner with 35 people at Luna on the evening before the rehearsal. It was fantastic!

As to the confirmation, try to call the office directly. I had to place one or two long distance calls to Miami to get a confirmation (usually at 9AM when they open) and to deal with some other issues.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Everyone!

I am waiting to hear back from Lauren at the Miami office about our official wedding date in April 2013 and I'm a bit nervous. Your posts have helped by raising my confidence about the wedding itself, but working with Lauren is not ideal (as apparent in several posts on various forums). I have been charged the deposit to reserve my date in April 2013, but have not received confirmation. This is after she offered a previous date, I got the paperwork in within two hours of her email and she then told me a couple had submitted their paperwork last week for that date and I needed to pick a new one. Were any of you charged before your date was confirmed for your wedding?

Thanks for the help!

@cdc150 - your pictures are beautiful :)

mybel - my fiance and I will be getting married at PPC in less than two weeks. I'll be sure to report after we get back.

My first suggestion is when working with the Miami office is to be very thorough, track everything yourself, and get confirmations for everything. They are not great on details as we had to follow up and resend things but they are nice to work with and if you have your ducks in a row and stay on top of it they will take care of you. Or so I will find out when I get down there.

For your wedding date be sure you have confirmation of your date/time and the location if you already know which spot you want to use. For instance, the gazebo requires a deposit and reservation.

Other than that for now just do as much research (via this site and others) as you can. Don't rely on them entirely. You want to be well informed to make sure you get what you want. You have lots of time to plan and be prepared.

I just heard back from Pastor Rick York after my inquiry for availability on my wedding date, turns out he is unavailable due to a meeting he has to attend. Now I'm a little panicked as my plan was to get legally married back home in the States and have a symbolic spiritual Christian ceremony in DR. We can't get married in a church due to religous differences (although we are both Christians). Any thoughts from anyone on who else could perform the religous ceremony for us @ PPC? The "symbolic" ceremony performed by the WC just seems so impersonal and we really wanted to have a Chrisitian pastor. Neither one of us has any ordained pastor friends and don't buy into the whole online ordained pastor things...we want a REAL pastor : (

Hi there ladies!

I need help! I'm 25 and tryin to plan my wedding- I honestly want to keep it simple and sweet....my mom passed away when I was 14 and I think I lost the "bride gene" somewhere along the way- and I've really never had a desire for a big wedding ceremony or party.

My fiance and I are planning to come down November 19-25 of this year, and we are having about 30-35 guests (mostly immediate family and a few close friends). I wanted to do the all-inclusive as it seems to be the cheapest option. I am thinking about booking the wedding for Friday, November 23rd. My ideal setting would be on the beach, with my family/friends standing around (no chairs) and no decorations (maybe a bridal bouquet). After that, I'd love to do pictures with hubby and with everyone. I'm thinking of just trying to ask for reservations at a restaurant (maybe at long tables) but not privatizing the whole place.  Honestly, I don't want to pay more for a cocktail hour/drinks when it's an all-inclusive resort (I don't really mind being around other people). Is this do-able? After that, we just want to dance... not sure if there's anything to do there on Friday nights after 7pm... anyone have suggestions?

Also, for the rest of the week we would like to try and do dinner together as well... just so we can have a section or a big table.

Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated~~

Hi Jenna.  Well you've certainly come to the right place to get info!  First I would suggest you start working with one of their Wedding Coordinators as soon as you can, they have an office in Miami with a 1-800 tel # so you don't have to make long distance calls.  Second, most important thing is setting your budget.  They do have some very simple packages that aren't too expensive, like the Fantasy package where you don't have to do a reception dinner with dj, plated menu, privatized restaurant, etc.  They will allow you to just completely customize your event and anything you do would be a-la-carte, but trust me that can get expensive because you'll be charged for every little thing unless you do it yourself or bring it with you - at which point you'll need to pack it or ship it there - and again, there goes your $.  So, I think you should have a budget in mind of what you are willing to spend, and then work with the coordinators to see what can be done with your budget.  They do lovely simple-low key weddings for not terribly expensive..it's when you start adding on all the extras that your $'s go up.

They have several areas where you can do your ceremony including the beach.  You don't have to do chairs..but..it's a wedding...as low-key as it is.  Just something to think about.  The lobby starts going at about 9 pm with entertainment. That's where everyone goes.  They bring in a live band every night which plays great latin fun music, and then the disco/club also located in the lobby opens at 11 pm.  This is a nightly thing, so yes you'll have somewhere to go and dance/party.  You can definitely do a non-privatized dinner without having to privatize a restaurant.

Speak to the coordinators once you have your budget in mind, you'll be surpised at what can be put together for you.  Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
