Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Recommended Posts

Hey ayansi08,

Welcome and congratulations!! I was very nervous about a Destination Wedding. In fact, it was the exact opposite of what I wanted. It's too long of a story to outline how I wound up here, but I did, and I'm really, really excited.

We chose PPC because we had some friends honeymoon at the resort and LOVE IT. We've never been there, nor have any of our guests, and we like the adventure of it all.

I worked with Lauren Harder and I was not impressed. Some of the other girls here have highly recommended Teresa, so I'd try to switch to her if possible. Lauren does the bare minimum, and is not personable at all. She's very reactive instead of proactive which isn't helpful when you're planning an event site unseen.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck. I leave in about a week for my wedding and will be sure to post information upon our return. This forum has been invaluable as we move forward so I would recommend you devote some time to poking around here.

Good luck,

Katherine

Hi anyansi, Congrats on the engagement and welcome to the forum!!

I totally understand you being nervous because I think we were all right there with you when we first started but thanks to all the girls on here, the planning has been AMAZING!! I originally went with NOW Larimar for our wedding and they kept jerking me around. When my Travel Agent from DestinationWeddings.com helped me find PPC I booked right away because I was in love. I haven't looked back since I booked nor do I feel as nervous as I was when we were booked with NOW Larimar. I am working with Teresa and she is AMAZING!! I would highly recommend her if you can switch. She is VERY friendly and actually cares about your special day.

A BIG CONGRATS to Katherine on your special day!! Please let us know how it goes. Thanks!! :)

Congrats to you all!

I'm new to this website, and just started my wedding planning. I have yet to give a deposit anywhere, but I am really liking PPC. However, I'm VERY nervous about planning a destination wedding.

I've already received information from Lauren Harder, the Romance Planner.

I wanted to get some type of feed back from anyone that has been dealing/ or dealt with her. Like I said I'm very nervous about this whole planning process and want to make sure that I pick a resort in which the planner will be helpful.

Thank you in advanced!!!

Hi Katherine & Deesanders33!

Thank you so much for your replys!

I was actually getting very turned off with PPC because of Lauren until I started reading what everyone has posted. I feel like I write to Lauren and it takes forever to get a reply. I'm def going to contact Teresa, I've fallen in love with the resort but want to feel comfortable with the planner.

I'm very happy I found this website! Reading all the info being posted has made very excited to have the wedding at PPC.

Katherine congrats!!!!!!!! I hope you have an amazing experience and wedding day cheer2.gif

Thank you so much ladies!!!!

The club is called the "Red Lounge" it's actually the Restaurant "Fuego" in the day time, very nice!! and it has like 6 cabanas inside making it very exclusive and posh, the dance floor is circular and fits like 30 people, it's very decent. not everyone goes, good spot for you and your guests, that's where we're going to end up after our reception is over.

Thanks MissSunshyne!! That helps! Going to check out the pics of Fuego on the site.

Lauren is not an actual wedding planner, but the person in charge of getting the reservations in order and answering questions when it comes to booking, she's the liason between the US and the actual Resorts abroad. Very true - she is not personable at all! she gives yes and no answers, very dry. Theresa I'm assuming helps out the brides from Canada, but you can actually reach out to the romance department at Paradisus, they're great!, it make take some time to get back to you at times but they have been a pleasure working with, Jennifer and Miguelina are in charge at the moment, and answer all pricing questions, menu, decorations, entertainment etc, they will send you numerous attachments and links to their pictures. I would reach out to them better, hope this helps.

Hello mostly ladies and gents,

Congrats to all on board. I am the fiance of ayansi08 and decided to join to help out with our wedding venture. After my better half showed me this resort, I fell in love.

We plan on staying a few days extra with our friends and family to enjoy the resort. Now, for those who have experienced with this resort, how is the vibe with the other visitors/guests.

We have friends that have gone to Punta Cana (not to this resort) just for vacation/partying reasons. We really don't want to be caught in the middle of drunken/party

animals (at least throughout the ceremony), but maybe after. cheesy.gif

Also, totally off the above subject. Food, how is the menu and the options to choose from.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Miss Sunshyne!

Thanks so much for the advice!

I actually reached out to Teresa. I sent her an email and received a response in less than 1/2 an hour. I was shocked as I wasn't use to that from Lauren.

About 15 min's later Teresa tells me that her manager said since I started my process with Lauren, I had to continue it with her. I got very upset and spoke to the manager based out of Miami. After explaining how unimpressed and uncomfortable I felt with Lauren, the manager said I could continue working with Teresa which made me super happy.

Teresa has been an angel! I absolutely love her!!!!!! Iâ€m really happy I followed every ones advice : )

Hey girls,

For any of you planning any spa services, I was on a hunt for hair and make up pricing and I came accross the spa menu http://www.paradisus-puntacana.com/images/punta-cana/YHI_Spa_PPC.pdf

There is actually no pricing for bridal hair so I have emailed Theresa to ask.  Has anyone used the salon at PPC?  Did you like the results? I am definitely getting my hair in an updo of some sort, and possibly my bridesmaids too.  One of my BMs is very talented at make-up and has offered to do the bridal party, but it would be nice if she could relax....so if it is not so expensive, maybe it will be my treat?

Thanks!

Holly

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
