Hair and Makeup - Besides Fernando

Recommended Posts

@Vacationsrthebest -  Wow Your makeup looks GREAT!!  So I assume this is the MAC Cancun at the shopping mall located on the Hotel Zone strip?

So how much did she charge to come to your hotel?  Makeup $$ and the price for hair $$?

I booked Norma the end of last summer so her prices may have changed but I paid $200 for hair and make-up ($100 each). Then for my BM's they were only $50 for hair and $50 for make-up so my BM's also did hair and make-up. I did not have a hair or make-up trial and instead just brought pics of what I liked and she picked what would look nice on me. The humidity is so strong that my first choice of hair half up half down was out of the question.

I truly loved my hair and make-up! I got so many compliments on each.

Hi teresa40,

Congratulations on renewing your vows! Have you heard?? 50 is the new 30!!!  Kim Cattrall is smokin!

A tip of advice on your make-up...make sure they have experience with mature skin. If not applied correctly make-up can add years to a women by choosing too dark of colors and not using the appropriate foundation (if you have lines on your face make-up can seep into those darn things and call unwanted attention to them).

Cheers to many more years together!

Have a great time and congrats again!

We booked Adrian and his team for our wedding.  They came right to our room and they were great!!!  Adrian is very talented.  Everyone looked beautiful!  My makeup did last all day and after sweating like crazy in the Mexican heat, I still looked great at the end of the night.

I wasn't crazy about my hair at first (to be honest, I hated it) and they gladly fixed it all and made sure I liked it in the end.  Once I get my pictures, I'll be sure to post some of their work.

I would recommend them 100%!

I second StephyD's positive review!  I was married at The Royal Playa Del Carmen on February 5, 2011, and Adrian and his team did my hair and airbrush makeup, in addition to my Maid of Honor's, mom's and mother in law's.  We all had nothing but great things to say about him and his team..no one was the least bit unhappy with their work.

Like most brides, I was worried about working with someone I hadn't met before...I didn't want to end up looking like a clown and unrecognizable on my wedding day!  But after my hair and makeup trial the night before my wedding, all of that unnecessary stress went away.  Adrian was so professional and really knew what he was doing.  I didn't even have to give him much direction...I just told him I wanted something more natural looking, and he totally rocked it.

Not only that, but we all felt completely comfortable with Adrian and his team.  They were all a lot of fun and very easy to talk to, which is important when you're spending so many hours together in a hotel room!  For that reason, I will always remember Adrian fondly when I look back on my wedding day and I recommend him to any bride who wants to look and feel totally fabulous on her wedding day :)

Here are a few of close ups taken by my photographer, Erick Rodriguez, that may help.  I think Adrian did a great job of making sure that my makeup lasted all day, while maintaining the natural look that I asked for.

Hi ladies, I just booked hair and makeup with Adrian and Christian. After all the glowing reviews I figured why not. The nice thing is that they are located right in playa del Carmen so I can get my hair trial and save a bit on paying outside vendor fees. I will have them come to my room on my actual wedding day though. :D .

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
