I haven't yet, but we plan on buying them from Michael's in a few weeks. We are going with one of the folding envelope card sets. I think its black and white. Its not exactly what I wanted, but it saves us a ton of cash. We are going to also buy the little wax seals from Michael's and put them on the instead envelope. I think they will look great. I am actually pretty excited about doing them. I had DIY projects because normally you have to cut things and use glue, but with these projects they are pre-assembled.

I would love to see pictures of any finished Michael's Invites!

You can always buy additional embelishments online if you want to dress them up a bit. I might buy some bright envolope liners to spice up the black and white invites.

I bought these orange and cream ones, but I'm going to use blue ribbon, instead of the brown, because those are my wedding colors.  And i'm going to print thiem in royal blue ink as well.

I agree, I 'm excited to do-it myself as well.  If I tried those other DYI projects it would like like a 2nd grade art project...lol.

Where are you going to print them out?  And are you printing on the envelope or hand-writing them?

My undergrads is in graphic design so I will probably do something fun for the printed portion. I was thinking about using my printer at home, however if the stock is too thick or odd shaped I might just give the design files to a local printers and make them deal with it.

When you said your DYI projects would look like a 2nd grader I got a laugh out of that. Mine would look just like that. I am good at designing stuff ,but I HATE crafts. I would have glue on everything and probably just start crying hehe.

I will probably print my envelopes unless a family member wants to do them for me. I am dyslexic and have unreadable hand writing. Chances are only half of the invites would get their.

When are you going to create yours? You soooo have to post a pictures.

I was pretty impressed with all the chooses Michael's had. I looked at Target/Walmart and online. They by far had the best templates sets. To do them how I want with an online vendor or store would probably cost me hundreds. Which I just cant afford after spending so much on everything else.

I might use Michael's for my AHR as well.

I have gotten a few wedding invites in the mail lately and I think by far the Micheal's ones look a ton better. if you do them right.

I bought invites from Michaels also. Just plain white with a pearl border but I plan on 'dressing them up a bite'. I'll have to play around with the font, colors, etc for printing and I did buy ribbon, flowers and cardstock in my wedding colors for added details.

Check out Michaels website for some ideas on invites.

Good luck and post back whatever you end up doing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
