Ah ok, cool!    I guess I missed that post.   That is good because I already started the 2nd book

I was going to set this one out because I'm a big nerd and like my books to match so was going to wait for the second two to come out on paperback before I start the first..but...I needed a book to read on Tuesday and it was the only new one I had on hand that I hadn't read. Finished it last night and went out and bought the second. I guess I don't need my books to match after all!! The first one was such a good read! Looking forward to the others!!

Haha I hate when books arent in paperback! I bought the first one and then got the second one from the library because I didnt want to buy the hardcover!

I use to be the same way until I got a nook and it's electronic. I like my books to match. But I can't wait that long for it to come in paperback!!

I’ve finished the Hunger Games Trilogy now – great suggestion!  I wish I had these to read for the beach next month because they were such a fun read, but I got through them very quickly while FI played with his shiny new PS3.  

 

I know we are not discussing these until the 14^th so in the meantime… what is the next book?  Sorry if I missed it before.

We haven't chosen the new book yet. I will see how many suggestions I've recieved when I get off work and will go from there.

We will start discussion on February 12th for this book. Here is a brief synopsis:

 

Hosseini's stunning debut novel starts as an eloquent Afghan version of the American immigrant experience in the late 20th century, but betrayal and redemption come to the forefront when the narrator, a writer, returns to his ravaged homeland to rescue the son of his childhood friend after the boy's parents are shot during the Taliban takeover in the mid '90s. Amir, the son of a well-to-do Kabul merchant, is the first-person narrator, who marries, moves to California and becomes a successful novelist. But he remains haunted by a childhood incident in which he betrayed the trust of his best friend, a Hazara boy named Hassan, who receives a brutal beating from some local bullies. After establishing himself in America, Amir learns that the Taliban have murdered Hassan and his wife, raising questions about the fate of his son, Sohrab. I have to say I loved the movie but can't remember if I read the book. Looking forward to it. And I know this ones in paperback!!

Ah the Kite Runner was an amazing book!  One I will probably read again anyways.  Good choice!
