always a bridesmaid...

I love being a bridesmaid. Its the most fun you could have with your girlfriends and I love being apart of making my friend feel like a million dollars! I'm in another wedding next Sept and my boyfriend is also in it as well. Needless to say after 5 years of on-and-off dating you can be sure we have spoken about getting engaged.

Do you see where this is going???

Well last night the bf told me that he doesn't look to get engaged within the next 2 years.

background:

we don't live together and wont until marriage

he just graduated and has an amazing job

I'm graduating in Dec- but I still have two + years of graduate studies ahead of me

long story short- I want to get engaged but I know that having a wedding within the next 3 years is ridiculous bc of school and trying to plan a wedding during that would drive me nuts--- and no studying would happen!

How am I going to wait so long with all of these weddings happening all around us?

Help! Help!

my gf is in the same situation. She's my MOH but they are done with school and established. She is dying to get married. I told her to just wait for him until he's ready. Because if you are in a good relationship and you know he's the one, then give him his space and time because he will marry you when he's ready. (And hopefully he'll do a good job with the proposal). My friends grandma has been married for 60 plus years and she got married really young.  Hopefully, you'll spend more years married then single but don't rush it. Enjoy the "dating period" especially since you're in school. Study!! wink.gif

My cousin just got married last Christmas after more than 10 years of dating a guy. He is great, and they were both out of school with established jobs when they met but he just couldn't seem to pop the question. Now they are about to celebrate their one year and they are trying to have a baby! If it is meant to be it will be. Just be patient.

Thanks ladies! Sometimes it is so hard to wait (5 years) but I know that God has a plan for us. We recently have started talking about getting engaged. He thought I wanted to wait till after Grad school. I'm so happy with our relationship I just want to marry him. I know that there are other factors involved in setting a good foundation for marriage and we are talking about what we both think those are. Thank you for the support... I just can't wait to marry my best-est friend!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
