Hi Tracy.  I'm not sure if this was for me, but I think I'm the only one with a self pic on the this thread so far...so thank you!!  If it wasn't intended for me...oops rolleyes.gif

My most difficult challenge by far was chosing the country!  We were open to anywhere in the world, and actually started out by saying "anywhere but Mexico".  Funny enough we ended up with Mexico, because our money will go much further, and we can make it look like a $30K wedding for almost half the price!  The second hardest thing was picking the resort.

Before getting engaged I thought these two things would be the most fun, but it was really hard for me.  I kept worrying about the perfect country/resort that would make all 50 people we were inviting happy without spending a ton of $.  Its just impossible.  Reading through this forum really helped me out!

After these decisions were made, I promise everything else has been easy and fun!  Thats the beauty of a destination wedding...nobody knows what to expect, so anything special you do will be a great surprise!!

Have you picked your country or resort yet?  Or have it narrowed down?

Just Jamie... regarding the picture it was directed to you...I still learning how to work the forum.. I have decided Bahamas but we are going to Mexico next weekend so my mind might change after our vacation. Also I am looking for an all inclusive package for my guest in the range $650-$800. I have no ideal how the prices works regarding the wedding portion but I'm hoping this site will help me pin port more ideals...

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and above all, congratulations for your engagement!

One of the first thing you should think about is the destination wedding!

One of the best things about Riviera Maya is the fact that you can get everything you dream, and it goes from the simplest things, up to the most elaborated...
I am certain that you will love it.
Your wedding is going to be full of magic and this website will help you a lot!

Hi, welcome and happy planning! This forum has helped me SOOOO much. I was clueless about how to go about so many things. The planning threads are a great resource. Lots of fantastic ideas, and hints of vendors and websites. I was ecstatic when I hit 150 posts because I could then open the templates :) My advise..... post, post, post and read all you can. I went from planning a decent wedding to one that I hope will be FABULOUS :)

Hi Tracy!

congrats!

First start choosing a date. One year from now would you give some time to prepare yourself and your guests.. Second, choose your ideal place.. Did you say Riviera? JStart navigating trough the forum looking for the best resort that would meet your necessities.. from there… maybe a coordinator, the music, the photos… sometimes some brides start choosing the photos, the music, haha.. I can tell you that pictures last forever, take special care on them!!

Greetings!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
