how much did you pay for..

I know here in the States most banks have a notary on site and if you are an account holder at the bank they will do it for free. My resort said they just needed copies and nothing needed to be notarized.... I think that i should double check with them.

Im in Ontario as well and a friend of mine suggested to ask my bank, because she has heard of them doing it here before, so it might be an option. Im definately going to look into it. s

That is different.  Here to get something notarized, it must be done by a notary public and you definitely couldn't get that done at the bank unless they had a notary there but they would definitely charge you for it.

My resort hasn't asked for any of our docs to be notarized...we had to scan in copies and send them electronically, then we bring the originals with us.  The website for the Jamaican consulate also did not indicate that the birth certificates, ect, had to be notarized...is this something for the bigger resorts???  Mayhap I will ask my WC...

It might depend on the resort...we are getting married at Riu Ocho Rios and we had to send in notarized copy of long birthcertificate, passsport, name change (if applicable) divorce certifacte(if applicable) which we did, we couriered them over, which was a little pricey, but they got there in 8 days, and glad it didnt go through unneccessary hands. We paid nothing for notary. I just searched notary public online in my area and i dialed random number, he agreed to do it, no charge for anything. So it all worked out. Resort then emailed me to let me know documents arrived safely and they have them. I stressed about it for a while as well, but once it was does, easy breezy

So I did ask my WC, we are taking our originals with us, all we had to do is scan in our birth certificates (long forms), passports, and the divorce certificate...and sent that info via email.  Mine doesn't even have a father listed, and apparently that is OK...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
