I am soo sorry to hear that. I have encountered the same issue with people since I started planning my wedding. I guess you have to be prepared for some friends and extended family to react in that way, but when your parents are acting like that it must be unnerving. I know that it is hard, but just remember that your wedding day is for you and your fiancee. You both are the most important people that day so enjoy it the way you two want to.

wow, that sucks. and i totally know how you feel!  i don;t know if your wedding has passed already and maybe your situation changed?  i just came across this thread now and i might be in the same situation.  thing is, i seem more upset about FI's parents and family not coming than he does!  i can't help but think it is not a wedding if only MY family is there!

not to mention that we planned our destination around his parents being able to come - both location and budget wise and they STILL might not come!  :(

My finances mother and stepfather RSVP no to ouR wedding. It is 7 weeks away. All the invitations have been sent to her side of the family. They got in a silly fight and she is taking her husbands side. She is evil she did this to him before she abandoned him for 8 years when he was growing up. They reconnected about 5 years ago but now she has done it again. His father is dead he has no family at his wedding now I am heartbroken for him I don't know what to do. She's an evil person

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
