I'm new and overwhelmed! Need help finding a resort in Mexico

Recommended Posts

I recently got engaged and we have decided on a destination wedding in Mexico.  It will be a small group (20-40 people).  I am having a tough time deciding where to do it.  I prefer an all-inclusive resort and need a place where children are allowed.  I like the Cozumel Palace so far. Does anyone know anything about the resort??? or about the best all-inclusive resort to have a wedding at??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I feel like I am going in circles and could use some help.

There are so many beautiful resorts in Mexico and this is the hardest decision (or at least it was for me). I decided to go with Now Jade Riviera Cancun after lots of research. I wrote down the things that were important to me like kids allowed, size of resort, time of transfer from the airport, no wristbands, price etc. and then I just started reading up on different resorts until I found the one I liked best. You can find a lot of information on this forum regarding resorts. Good luck!

Hi,

Congrats! I think you are making some great starts in trying to figure it all out. It sounds like your next step is to talk to someone who does have first hand expererience/knowledge of area/hotel. I would recommend a destination wedding Travel Agent. I have a great rec if you want to pm me.

Hello!

Congrats on the engagement :)  Mexico is a great choice for a destination wedding.  I am getting married at the El Dorado Royale in Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya in October! Just around the corner :)  Just wanted to make a suggestion for a family friendly all-inclusive resort.  Karisma Hotels  http://www.karismahotels.com/ is the parent company of the El Dorado and they have a sister resort called Azul.  When I did a webinair for their hotels, they had some pretty cool features, such as having connections with Gerber and Fischer Price so you don't have to worry about food and toys for the little ones.  There are 4 locations, all different sizes, so you can have a more intimate setting as well.  I went through www.destinationweddings.com to arrange my wedding and they have been fantastic helping me plan this wedding.  I highly recommend them.  They can also help recommend other resorts as well.   Good Luck planning and hope this was of help to you!

A beach is a beach...Why not try something different, like an Hacienda wedding?  The Hacienda Xcanatún, right outside of Mérida, Yucatán, is an ideal venue for a small wedding like yours.  Rent all 18 rooms, and have the place to yourself!  For pictures, go to www.elizabethmedinaphotography.com blog, search Hacienda Xcanatun, and take a peek at the amazing pictures. www.xcanatun.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
