severe stomach cramps

Just and FYI, endo can only be determined through surgery... well, at least when I was diagnosed about 5 years ago that was the case.

I went through about 2 years of random severe pain that would stop me in my tracks. I was sent to ALL kinds of doctors (IBS doctors included and funny enough, I was told ulcers too). Finally someone decided to check for endometriosis as a last resort. Sure enough.

I have IBS. It gets worse when I'm under stress or before my period. Sometimes a salad makes me feel terrible too. I used to pig out on salads at olive garden. Everyonce in a while I'd be in so much pain afterwards i could hardly stand up. I also found drinking green tea was making everything a lot worse. I think of it as my body's way of telling me to stop letting something stress me out. I used to be stressed out all the time, but now I know I can't let myself be. So I just don't worry about stuff as much. It feels good.

Oh I just thought of something...don't they put something in those restaurant salads to make them last longer before going bad? I've actually heard that it can cause a "food poisoning" sort of reaction in some people. I'll research a little and report back....

The frustrating thing is that my FH doesn't get how my stomach can hurt "all the time".

So glad to know I'm not alone!
Amanda,

guys can be a little insensitive sometimes. They mean well, but they don't get it!

Yours could be ibs then??

I honestly think doctors don't even know half of the time what they are doing! That is why I look everything up on the internet, diagnose myself and when I am ready...I tell them what needs to happen and what tests i want!!! I seem to get further!

See...that is what my doc said...because it's only diagnosed through the surgery she didn't want me to have to do that if it's not in pain. I agree though because as far as I'm concerned if I am not in pain then I'm fine! :)

Maybe you could try taking something for IBS & see if that clears it up. Not necessarily to continue to take the medicine, but just to see if that was all it was. I took something called Levbid once. It got rid of all my stomach pain, but gave me terrible dry mouth. I dont really want to take medicine everyday anyway. I've learned how to control stress better so it's not as bad. But, I do have stomach pain everyday. Some days are just worse than others. Women have it more than men because of the extra intestines needed to bend around the uterus. atleast that's what i've heard.

Last Dec my FI had terrible stomach pain it was so bad he went to the ER. They ran all sorts of tests, but couldn't find anything wrong so they send him home. 2 days later we were back in the ER. They kept him over night and still couldnt find anything wrong. He went to see his doctor they did xrays and an ultrasound abd still nothing. The pain went away but he said he still gets a little pain every once in awhile. We moved to Australia and since Dec he has lost 20 pounds which is a lot for him. We went home for a visit last month and he went back to the doctor and it turns out he has a parasite. Have you lost any weight??

I was talking to my mom about this last night and she said that both her and my aunt went through the same thing when they were right around my age. that randomly, and with out warning, something they ate or drank would give them crazy stomach pain and the "i have to go now" rush to the bathroom. both my mom and aunt went to the doctor and neither got any clues as to what was wrong. anyway, this only continued for a year or so (but on and off during that year) and ever since they have been been fine.

i was in FL about a year ago and i woke up one night with the worst stomach pains i've ever experienced in my life. i was sweating, and hunched over thinking i was going to throw up from the pain. i called my mom at 2 am almost in tears because it hurt and i was scared. then without warning it just stopped. from severe pain to feeling totally normal again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
