Incorporating future step children into ceremony...need help!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was having the same issues and finally decided to include them in the wording on the wedding invitations and I will be giving them family medallions that I found on line. My children are 7 and 9 or they actually like the thought of having jewelry :)

Can i ask what the wording you used is? My FI has a 10 year old daughter and I would like to make her part of the ceremony as well. I like the sand idea, but FI has never wanted to do the sand ceremony or unity candle. What kind of family medallions are you using? Is it a type of necklace?

Hi

I found a bunch of useful information on "I Do! Take Two" they have all types of medallions that come in pins, necklaces and bracelets. Both my children like the jewelry idea so I went with it.

For the invitations- I got that on line also and It was basically Our names along with my kids names invite you to celebrate not only our wedding but the start of our new family. Something like that - I tried to find the site again but can't find it! typical me. I will write PM you the whole thing when I get home and from work. I can't believe I just finished my invitations a month ago and can't remember what we wrote :(

Bye

  • 2 weeks later...

My fiance and i have just started the planning thing and he has a 9 year old that loves the spotlight, but would hate to actually have to read something or speak out loud. We have been struggling to find something for her in the ceremony the family medallion thing is awesome...

i think she will be too old/big to be a flower girl and we have some younger nieces...we wont have a ring bearer...she likes the idea of being "the presenter of the rings"

thanks for the ideas...

we had originally wanted only a MOH and BM standing with us, but because I have 2 sons, that are 10 and 12, I decided to also incorporate my 2 female cousins that are 10 and 13. I assigned the boys as jr groomsmen, and the girls as jr bridesmaids. when the girls asked why they were 'jr' I told them jr's didn't have to spend as much money as sr bridesmaids. they like that answer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
