Why did you choose your date?

Recommended Posts

We choose the 17th, cuz every month since we met, Matt has left flowers on the windshield of my car at the train station I park at - one for each month we were together. If it was a weekend, he would sneak in when I was out and leave them in my room. He has been slacking lately, since we moved in together, but I told him to get it together for tomorrow! Hahahaa

I wanted to get married just before the holidays since I just love the month of December with all that joy going around ! !cheer2.gif

Thinking of my FI, we will be getting married on 12-12-07 because the date will be easy to remember (for him!)

Our date has to be either 7,10 or 17. All of our birthdates are one of those numbers. Mine and our yougest daughter's bday is on 10th, Richard,my other half, and our oldest daughter is on 17th and our middle daughter is the 7th.

The first house Richard and I lived together in was 71 (change them round and you get 17) , the first house we bought together was no 7, we started seeing each other on 17th. The list is endless. So I really would like to get married on any of those dates.

Incidently the latest 'numbers' are flying out to the Dominican Repulic on the

7th and getting married on the 10th and if you add those together you get 17 so it should work!!

A bit long winded but thats how i have come to my dates. Also we want to get married in July (7th month!!) smile41.gif

Funny.. we are constantly asked "why 4th of July"?

here was our thought process..

we needed to make sure it was summer break (for those with kids and those in college)

it needed to be early summer, since its rainy season in Mexico and the later summer you wait the heavier the rain.

we wanted a Friday wedding since we assumed most guests would leave on a Sunday and didnt want people rushing the day before they leave.

so this left us with either the last friday of June or first friday of July.. which happend to be the 4th of July.

We thought it would be fun, gave us an excuse to get fireworks for the wedding and we thought it would be great to always have your anniversary off!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
