That is too sweet!!

We chose our largely based on the time of year we wanted to get married. (actually I REALLY wanted a fall wedding but David was soooooo sad that we would have to wait over a year from our engagement to get married if we did that.) Anyway, we chose late spring - so end of April through May. Then once we decided on the location for our reception, we pretty much only had two dates to choose from...April Fool's Day or Cinco de Mayo! Lol! So at that point the choice was pretty obvious for us.

And besides...it's fun to get married on a holiday like that. We figure there will always be parties and specials on margaritas in our honor. shots.gif

I originally wanted 8.8.08...but then when we started talking about a destination wedding I was worried about hurricane season (before we picked a location). So I started looking at dates with an 8 in them and June 28th it was. It also turns out it would've been my parents 50th anniversary if they had lived. They made it to 45, almost 46 years before my Mom died so I figure it worked for them!

We chose July 5, 2008 because we wanted it to be in the summer and we thought the holiday weekend would make it easier for people to travel and take time off work (plus July 4th isn't a holiday in Mexico so it wasn't more expensive). Also, I have friends getting married in April, May, and June.

NO particular reason except that I though a Tuesday (our date falls on tuesday) would be more assessable for me to get a better pick of good vendors, and possibly less weddings on our date, and I didnt want our wedding on the last day we were in Cabo I wanted it more towards the beginning.

Well we were thinking about 7-7-07 because we were both born on 7-7, but we found that EVERYONE was doing that.. so we passed. We have to get married in the summer because Dan is a teacher, and it would be his time off. July was too rainy.. August was to late.. so since I liked the 7/7/07 theme, I went with 6/7/08 ( I thought it was clever). There's my story.. I suppose it's easy for everyone to remember too!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
