Cabo Villa Wedding Costs!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and planning a wedding at a Cabo villa in October 2011, for probably 100-125 people.  The villa itself is really expensive, so I'm really trying to get a handle on the other costs like a coordinator, DJ, flowers, decor etc!

i've emailed a few places here and there, but I'm sure as a lot of you know, its difficult to get a straight answer - everyone wants to discuss your budget, place, and work with you which is great, but I just need some quick estimates!!

So, any help would be appreciated.  My key questions are:

- Whats the general price range for wedding planner services?  I want to do a lot myself to keep costs down, but want someone to recommend vendors, help with discounts, and run the wedding week itself.  Is $1k reasonable?

- Flowers: Hoping to find a vendor that can utilize seasonal flowers to keep prices down - does anyone have any budgets they were given from florists, showing prices and what you get?

- Decor: Furniture and chairs / tables etc, who are the reasonable vendors and whats a reasonable price per chair / table / etc?

Thanks everyone!!

We are getting married in Cabo on Oct 1st and are using Cabo San Lucas Flower Shop. Donna is amazing at helping you stick to a budget and will recommend flowers that are seasonal.

We are going with the mexican alcatraz which looks a lot like callas and can be sprayed to any color you wish! Our flower were only $501, minus $300 paid by villa la estancia, so $201 out of pocket.

Our wedding is only $795 on the beach in front of Villa La Estancia for a civil non-legal ceremony. Our wedding planner is included in our $795 fee, and she is amazing, her name is Mina Fano. We are also going a reception after with unlimited cocktails and appetizers for only $940. Not a bad deal all together.

DJ's - DJ Morales charges $200/hr. He will set up for the ceremony and then move to the reception after.

Photos- EM Weddings, Gilda Badilo or Manuel Bourgoin would be my top 3 suggestions.

Good luck with your planning!

Hola Irene1182,

You can find many options for wedding vendors in Los Cabos that can adjust to your budget, comunication is very important. Some hotels already have a Wedding Coordinator on site and will not charge for their assistance, you can hire an external WC that can work with you according to your needs.

There are many many options on vendors, visit Los Cabos Wedding Vendors website and you can start working from there and contact vendors directly msnwink.gif

Hi Irene,

I too have been looking at villa weddings for a party of 100. In terms of catering, Denni's Catering - (they are highly recommended) sent us the following 2010 catering break down which is reasonable for a group our size and everything that is included. However, Im sure there is room for negotiations.

Per Person Price $139.00 US Dollars
All inclusive

Price includes

3 appetizers, 1 first course, 1 main course, 1 dessert, National open bar for 4 hours, set up including round table, linen, silverware, dishware, glassware, Centre piece (no flower), chairs, décor (torches, luminaries) waiters and bartender for 4 hours, set up & strike, services and tax

Hope this helps

Where on the property did you have your reception?? How many guests did you have?  I keep going back between Villa La Estancia and Villa del Arco for both accomodations and our reception!  I will probably offer/suggest both to my guests.  Any advice?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
