Are there quite a few great photographers locally?  I've seen a few name over and over again, I haven't really started looking yet though.

How far in advance should you be booking the destination photographers, and in general are the prices about the same as it would be for a photographer back home?

Congrats!

Also I saw a few girls on here saying they couldnt afford the photographer they wanted. My favorite photographer in the world is Matt From Del Sol photographer. I am sure you guys have seen there work on this site. Here is their wiki if you havnt http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/wiki/del-sol-photography-slideshows-riviera-maya

But anyways. While his world class expertise does cost a pritty penny ( And Well Worth It ) He just started a sister company to Del Sol  Called La Luna. They are half the cost. VERY Afordable. And you still get the amazing photo journalism that Matt has been noted for in Magizines all over the world. Check them out before you book anyone!

I requested quotes from at least 7 or 8 different people..i made a spreadsheet if you'd like to look at it...but i've found as low as 1200 all day to 4000 all day....I love who I selected because it was in my budget and still so amazing quality

My FI kept b*tching at me that a year out was too soon to book things. Figuers when I called the hotel ( A YEAR OUT) to save the date....It was already taken!

Hi Cynthia,

I am too jsut trying to figure out the photographer situation! I started doing a chart as you mentioned but I still haven't quite decided... Who did you end up choosing? Is your resort charging you a penalty for an external photographer?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
