Zuniga Deco Cancun - Prices

Recommended Posts

I've been working with Katie. She's been great.

We spent the past few weeks getting together our ballroom layouts for 2 events (the night before) and the reception layout... we just finalized those, and now we're onto decor (aka the fun stuff)! I'm getting a ton of quotes now, so I'll pass them along as I get them!

Zuniga acts as MP's decor company. They pretty much do all the decor for events at MP -- they also do their own flowers too, so they'll bring flowers with them too.

My understanding so far is that Zuniga can pretty much create whatever you want, but sometimes they can be a bit pricey (although I did hear that they are always willing to negotiate too).

Hope this helps!

So, here's what I've gotten so far:

  • Bamboo chairs, $8/ea
  • Tiffany chairs (dark brown, white, gold, or silver), $7/ea
  • Tiffany chair with sash, $10/ea
  • White Avante chair, $6/ea
  • Clear acrylic chair, $14/ea
  • Table cloth, $30/ea
  • Table runner, $15/ea
  • Napkins, $3/ea
  • Napkin rings, $2/ea
  • Other sashes for chairs, $4/ea

Seems a bit pricey to me, but I guess there's nothing I can do about the chair prices (other than negotiate). Others on this site have said they've been able to buy linens online for cheaper than this... so maybe I'll buy the linens and take them with me... we'll see.

Hope this helps.

Ladies,

Just a warning, make sure to ask Katie/Deco for pictures of actual centerpieces they made. Some pics are not actual pics of their centerpieces and just pics they use as examples. I was rudely surprised when another bride sent me a pic of what they actually did vs the pic they provided me. I had asked for a high centerpiece with a tree branch and then candles hanging off. What they actually did for another wedding was hideous. It look like they took twigs from my backyard and stuck them in a flower pot. It was not high and the amount of flowers in the vase was so small.  I had to changed my centerpieces b/c it was not worth the $115 they were going to charge.

Terpgurl, thanks for the heads up! So once you described what you wanted to Katie, do they put a sample together and send you pictures?

I am banking on using this tree for one of our events (I had read in anther post that they charge $40 for it). Is the tree you were hoping to use too? I actually don't want the candles, I want to replace them with something else we're bringing with us from India... so I didn't know if I explained to her what I want, if they can make a sample and send it to us.

Do you guys know if Zuniga has a wide selection of linens? Do they charge $30 for each across the board or does it vary by the type of linen and shape?

Do they have different fabrices (i.e. crinkled taffeta, satin, poly etc)?

Do they different shapes and sizes (i.e. round, square, rectangle, etc)?

From my experience they don't do a mockups for you. My friend that's a bride on here just asked them to send a real life example of what they did for another wedding. So here's my example. I am so glad my friend sent me this b/c I would have been so upset if I went to reception and saw the hideous centerpiece.  So I wanted this for a centerpiece and this is the pic they sent me which I assumed they created. Why would I think otherwise?

Then a bride that I met on BDW sends me the pic of an actual example of what Deco did that's suppose to be like the one above. Um they look totally different.

I wast totally upset when I saw this b/c I am not paying $115 for that crap. It looks nothing like the picture above.

Omg, totally agree. I think I'm going to ask Katie to do mockups before I pay a dime... especially after hearing your story. Thanks so much for the heads up!

Did you talk to Katie about this already? What did she say?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
