Yes, and it feels amazing taking the little turtles in your hands and releasing at water. An incredible experience!

The resort had several nests on its premises, so we were relaxing at the pool right before dusk and called us to help... so much better, we had it for free!

Awwww! They do this at a resort on the island I grew up on (Mt. Irvine Hotel, Tobago). They wake guests up when the leather back turtles come up on shore to lay eggs and they wake you up to see the babies go back into the water, because leather back turtles are endagered the whole experience is so cool. I don't think they let you take pictures or get too close but it is just so cool to watch. There are a few other resorts in Tobago that allow it but Mt. Irvine is the most famous cause scientist and researchers have publicized that one the most.

Where abouts do they do turtle releases?

I saw wedding photos of a couple releasing turtles and would really like to do something similar.

The FI and I are huge animal (and reptile and amphibian) lovers and this would be an amazing experience to add to an already special day.

We are looking at Costa Rica as our destination, does anyone know if they do turtle releases there?

                  thanks in advance.

Cabo, Vallarta, Huatulco and other places in the pacific of Mexico have turtle release programs from end of August-October. I just saw a Dreams ad from Cabo and Vallarta about this...
