Anyone used Arrecife Photography at Gran Bahia Principe Tulum/Akumal/Coba

Recommended Posts

I got the 10 photos included in our wedding package from them.

We had another photographer & friends/family taking photos.  There photos were ok...I just didn't enjoy the 'angle' they were shooting at.  It gave us both double & triple chins.

I would suggest meeting with them when you get to the resort and discuss what you would like..and don't before the ceremony.

Has anyone use Arrecife Studios at the Gran Bahia Principe in the Mayan Riviera?  I've read a lot of negative reviews about them and am getting nervous.

be careful, after some years only the photography will be the only thing that will last, leaving pictures in a bad vendor hands is not a good idea, I am not saying nothing against this vendor, I haven't seen their work so do not confuse my comment, this is about  not trust vendors.

Cheers!

My husband and I were married on November 4, 2010 and chose to just have the 10 pictures that were included in the wedding package, as we had family and friends taking pictures. The pictures were nice, however I agree with the review above that talks about the "angles" the photographer shot at some pretty strange angles although "artistic" they didn't turn out too flattering. We also found the photographer to be very distracting, while taking pictures is their job, I feel it could have been done in a less intrusive way. message if you would like to see pictures!

I am getting married atthe Akumal resort in just under a year. I find all the photography very confusing. I have read that you have to pay for three days for the photographer to stay. then five days, then you can't do it at all.

I have looked at this vendors pics and they are nice, but they are literally ALL the same. and also VERY expensive for what they provide. I am more into photo journalism ad they just don't shoot like that.  I would love some accurate info.

If you book an outside Photographer from Mexico you have to pay for a day pass for each photographer that comes along on the day (cant recal the cost but it is on other threads on here) if you fly someone from Canada you will have to pay for them to stay 5 days at the hotel.  Regarding Arrecife yes looking at different peoples wedding photos the poses are the same but you have to remember that they photograph at the hotel locations multiple times per day and know how to capture all the fabulous photo styles and know what works!  I have been talking with a recent bride who booked an outside photographer in Cancun and was disappointed in their photos sad.gif  When they went to choose the 10 photos from Arrecife they got in their wedding package they bought an extra 20 as they were so much better than the photographer they paid for.

At the end of the day you will know whats the best choices for your day - as with everything financials always play a big part in the determining things too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
