Hi Ladies!!  Thought I'd just check in with everyone.  It's been alittle while but my life has been alitte nuts haha...I'm sure everyone's has!

So Jeff(my FI) had back surgery last Wednesday.  He had 3 herniated discs that weren't getting better so they had to operate and shave down his discs.  He's doing good and hopefully this will fix it so he won't be in constant pain anymore.  He has a 4-6 week recovery so it'll lead right up to the wedding!!  Nothing like cutting it close :)

Ok lets see.  First of all Tara and Erin have been awesome with sharing pics and answering questions!  Thanks ladies SO much!!

I just emailed Karla all our final details and guest list.  I got an auto reply she's on vacay until the middle of March...awesome haha!  Hopefully this doesn't effect any of my stuff!  I might forward it all to Reyna just so she can give my guest list in so they can try to put all of us close.

      Lets see...

-Jeff got his shoes and belt.  We're going to wait on the shirts but pretty sure we're just doing white shirts with no ties.  I figured I'm making them wear jackets so I'll forget about the ties!

-Flower girl tutus are ordered.  I went with a 2 toned ivory/white with an ivory flower for their hair.

-Almost everything is bought for the OOT bags.  Got a bunch of stuff from Staples!!  Who would have thought but they had individual hand sanitizer for $.50, travel size motrins, tissue packs, and bandaids.  I ordered sun screen, tums, and emergen C from minimus.  Just have to get some goodies to add in

-Ordered koozies and totes from cheaptotes.  They have a good deal on koozies.  They're .49 with a 49.00 set up fee.  You get to design it yourself and pick the colors.

-Paper lanterns are in for the ceiling in the reception area.  They are huge haha!  Have NO clue how we're getting them to Mexico!

-Maraccas came in and labels are made for them.

-Brochures arrived from Vistaprint and they look awesome!  Very happy with them!

-Programs are made and put together.  Thanks Tara for the template!!

Hmmm I think that's it for right now.  Still have little things to do.  Table numbers, guest book, escort cards...Am I fogetting anything??  Any suggestions/ideas??

Oh I have my first fitting March 7.  Hope I still love it!!!

        Hi there!

One thing we did that I'm really happy I thought of was a memorial table.  I had the idea because my husband's father passed away 10 years ago and I really wanted something to honor him.  I found a website that made candles that were etched with whatever saying or prayer you wanted & then I found a beautiful stand at Michael's.  I had my husband choose what he wanted the candle to say & we brought pictures of our grandparents who had passed away, my best friend who died when she was 22 and of course a photo of his dad.  Karla set them up on a table with a white cloth covering it & she put other small candles and a few white flowers on it-it looked BEAUTIFUL!  So-just an idea in case you had family members you wanted to kindly remember at the reception.

Also, how are you putting your first aid bags together?  I found an awesome idea from another bride.  You find ziplock bags (the ones without the labels on them so people can actually see through the bags) and print out a label for it on cardstock paper.  Then you fold that paper over the top zipper & staple it.  It looks like you bought it at a store!!!  People LOVED them :)  I found a pic of a drunk looking Chihuahua hitting a pinata and put on the top "Wedding Weekend Survival Kit."

Erin,  everything looks sooooooo beautiful...especially YOU ;)   I am not so lucky with those chairs...they will give them to me for the beach ceremony, but for the reception they have these disgusting chairs that are the every day chairs in the restaurant...booo... oh well, I am going to pay the extra $350 to upgrade to tiffany chairs and round tables ....NOTE TO ALL NEW IBEROSTAR BRIDES ---the LINDO does NOT have an open air reception venue so it looks like the Del Mar or the Beach are better venue choices....I think Tara stayed at the Lindo, but had her reception at the Del Mar...but they will not let me do that now... ;(  Anyways, it will all work out and we will have a great time....I TRULY appreciate your advice about not trying to handle everyones problems - I am such a control freak so I will have to seriously put my mind to letting everyone deal with their own checkins and room issues ect....

Again - everything looks so GREAT....I have looked at your photos on FB like 100 times (borderline stalker-ish I think..lol)

I cant WAIT to get the starfish after Hanna....YAHOO!!

            Hi Girls!!!

Well it is now March and I can officially say that I am getting married next month! I wanted to let those of you coming up after me know about something though.... we had some people who insisted on waiting to book their tripo in order to try and get a better deal last minute...... WELL our resort is now sold out! Both the Beach and the Del Mar so all that is left for our dates is the Lindo or the Maya (both of which are more expensive). I had never really heard of a resort actually selling out before but apparently it does happen! So I wanted you all to be aware and to let your potential guests know that if they wait too long then they may be out of luck! Apparently 2011 is one of the biggest years for destination weddings ever in history! Something to keep in mind!

Other than that, here is where we are now with our stuff:

I pick up my dress on March 9th (it will be totally finished, alternations and all)

My FI and I are tkaing his mom shopping in the states this weekend to try and find her a dress (and us some clothes!)

My shower (that I didn't really feel right about having) is on March 12th

My bachelorette party is on March 19th (I think... they're trying to keep it a surprise!)

I have to make my place cards and seating chart

I have to send Karla the final details sheet

We both have to finish writing our vows (we're doing our own)

We have to finish our playlist for the DJ

How is everyone else doing? I'm really excited to receive the starfish pin.... It's going to be my "Something Borrowed"

HA!!  Hannah you're hysterical!  I've looked at my pictures tons of times too!!!  I did that with Tara's pictures because it made it all seem more real!  It's easier to visualize your own wedding when you see exactly where things will be.  Tara did do her reception the same place I did-at the Del Mar.  Del Mar & beach share the same private venue for the reception (fyi for new people here!)  It's a bit confusing.  Sorry they won't do the chairs at the reception too, but that's minor in the grand scheme of things!  I saw that Hanna is going to give you the starfish I just sent her?  Is that right?  And I think you were both nervous about leaving the starfish at the hotel after Hanna is married?  Leave it with Karla!  It will definitely get to you that way!  Hanna is in Canada & I'd be worried about the time it would take to ship it plus the cost if she sent it quickly.  Karla is SO organized and completely reliable.  It'll be in good hands-I promise :)

Katie - you seem to be on top of everything!  Geez, with all these ideas, I could get married like 15 times!!  I am going to keep reading all of your checklists to see everything I am missing or forgetting..lol...

The Beach and Del Mar are sold out for arrivals between April 1-5 so as long as your guests are planning on arriving April 6th or later then they should be fine (for now anyway). I can't remember when your wedding is so this may not affect you at all but the same thing could happen as you get closer to your date as well.

Wow I can't believe it's actually sold out.  Our wedding is April 16.  Most of our guests are coming in Thursday the 14th.  There are still a few people who haven't booked and I keep reminding them but it's really getting annoying and frustrating especially since I'm doing 500 things!!
